newbie here… I’m trying to practice ILS landings… but skyvector seems to not have airport charts in Canada and I’m not willing to pay for subscription fee for Navigraph…
Am I right about Skyvector in Canada?
How does a poor old Canuck get ahold of airport charts to get some ILS practice in?
You’ve right that Skyvector only has airport charts for the USA. For free charts of Canadian airports try the Canada Air Pilot charts, just Google them, I’m doing an around the world trip in the sim in live weather, just about to reach Goose bay, although I’m flying VFR, I plan IFR in Little Nav Map and often choose to fly an ILS approach to the destination just incase the weather turns bad so always have the charts to hand.
Try Little Nav Map (free), import all your MSFS scenery (and turn off Navigrahp in the application).
Now that won’t give you a chart. But you can plan the approaches and such, see which airports have ILS, frequencies etc… Makes the initial planning a bit easier I suppose.
I think if you want more than that, it’s hard to find without paying. Perhaps individual airports… Google sometimes has good hits.
I’ve been using SimPlates UltraX, for Canada. It’s 35 USD, but seems to have nearly all of the airports and approaches in Canada, more than MSFS at any rate. And it’s updated regularly at no additional cost.
