I’ve managed a couple of flights without an issue, so I hope you’re right.
On the other hand, I went through a two-week period a couple of months ago when I didn’t have any issues, then the problem came back, so I won’t bank on it.
We shall see…

I think, it‘s not fixed, as I lost the audio ATC after 20 Mins of flying.
On XBox here - Not sure if this gem has been mentioned, but in addition to Azure going completely mute or changing to only one voice, I’ve noticed that the Assistant/co-pilot will sometimes undergo a random, ahem, gender reassignment either at the very beginning of the flight or at some point during if I have it handle comms - regardless of the selected avatar.
Turning Azure voice off and then back on again sometimes corrects this, but for the most part Lt. Diana Drayer often changes into Lt. Simon Hernandez (whatever, not gonna judge) and stays in this form for the duration.
Although this is super minor, but it adds yet another bug to the giant pile of other minor immersion breaking bugs nonetheless.
I had a variation on this one today. Instead of not hearing ATC and only hearing my AI co-pilot’s response, I heard the opposite, with my co-pilot apparently being struck dumb.
It also appeared to coincide with the issue where the ATC frequency matches a nearby ATIS frequency and drives one crazy with lots of over-speaking.
I do hope they do a proper rework of the associated code.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
Provide extra information to complete the original description of the issue:
Are you using DX12?
Yes
Are you using DLSS?
Don’t know
If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
I have noticed several switches from the standard old female voice to the new neural female voice during the past hours. I haven´t changed my copilot voice in between. This ATC service never works well. It has several types of errors.
Cheers
This is not a problem. Go into settings and then go to the sound tab. Everything should be at 100% volume
Is this a joke?
I’d taken it that he/she just hadn’t bothered to read enough posts in the thread, rather than being a troll, but I may be wrong. ![]()
Hi @Volarplayz,
What we are talking about in this thread is Air Traffic Control goes silent randomly while in Gameplay. If you look at this picture for example,
Wow really!? You are a genius! Where were you over a year ago? I wish I could have figured that out on my own! Genius pure genius! Lmao ![]()
.
Are you on pc or xbox?
Xbox.
This bug happens on all platforms.
MIGHT HAVE A TEMPORARY FIX FOR YOU ALL:
I have been tearing my hair out. All I want to do, is ‘stay in the game’ - and hop from multiple airports - I don’t like coming out of the game into the menu after each single flight, especially small hops. The issue, is as many have said the ATC just disappears usually after the first touch-down or sometimes even before the first touch-down. I’m flying in A320.
The ONLY way of got it to stay alive, is to NEVER close the ATC window in your game. I only have a single screen, so I push it way into the corner, make it as small as possible (including text) and this seems to work, you CAN also ‘minimize’ the ATC and it’ll still work.
If you mess with SIMRATE this can also cause the ATC to bug out - so this isn’t a perfect fix if you decide on a really long haul flight unless your happy to stay at 1x speed for 8 hours lol (That being said, maybe Simrate 2x 3x is ok, but certainly on MAX I lost the ATC) but this could be because I’m ignoring all the transfer comms I’m not sure. If you are like me, I like the take-off and landing short haul flying and lots of hops (So I fly around UK a lot).
I would appreciate if anyone has any other fixes, I played when the game was first released and I stopped playing for a few years, came back to it only a few weeks ago and couldn’t believe this BUG is STILL here.
I have always had my window open in game and I still had this issue happen.
Another workaround that sometimes works (not always) is to:
Stop telling people it’s volume, you are not understanding the issue that everyone is reporting your jumping straight to a completely irrelevant point. It’s nothing to with VOLUME. It’s the fact there is no ATC voice, there is no ATC text instructions appearing in the ATC Window - ATC is as good as DEAD at this point in the game, unless you do a full game restart. LOOK at the pictures people have posted.
That’s disappointing to hear, although I am playing on PC you are on Xbox right?
Out of interest what aircraft are you flying, because I’m almost exclusively Airbus A320?
Are you ever using Simrate increase the speed of the sim during flight?
Are you using IFR or VFR? Also, when do you notice the ATC normally cutting out? Is it normally after your first take-off and touch-down, when you try and go for a second flight without leaving the session (So when you finish the first flight, and the game ops you to ‘continue’) this is where it normally starts for me at least.
Yes ![]()
It depends on what flight I am doing-but a majority of the time it is the Asobo A320neo
Hmm…didn’t know that was a thing
So I am probably on Simrate 1
Mostly IFR. I notice it cut out when changing frequencies.
I normally go back to the Home Screen when changing flights, so after I land and taxi to the gate my flight is complete and I will go back to the Home Screen.
Hi mate - the only joy I’ve actually had, is to never close the ATC window and never use Simrate changes in the game. I ‘seemingly’ can jump from one airport to the next, one flight plan to the next on the MCDU without leaving the session. I did about 5 short haul flights in the A320 last night and it held up. I’m going to try more again today.
I also going to identify the network scan to Azure servers and run a live/dead test to see if that ever drops, I really don’t think it can be this because it’s such tiny data required - unless there is synch issues on a bridged network port. Will feedback.
Sounds a little worse than mine, almost all the time my ATC stops working after I land the first flight. What I don’t like doing, is coming out of the session flight by flight, feel it breaks the immersion. I like to hop from one airport to another, programming a new flight plan into the MCDU each time. If you are losing yours within the first flight that is really painful, ATC is almost worthless to you then. I played the game when it first came out, and stopped playing it mainly because of this issue. Almost forgot about it for years, came back to it just a few days ago and can’t believe this bug is still here. I’m absolutely determined to find a fix now. I’m guessing you can’t play in ‘offline’ mode on an Xbox?
