ISSUE DESCRIPTION
After downloading BASE CONTENT > C172SP G1000 CESSNA, I switched to Downloads tab and check this aircraft under BASE CONTENT, and press [F] Install. Nothing happens.
There was another aircraft under BASE CONTENT, which installed fine. This C172SP G1000 CESSNA 5.7.1 could not be installed yesterday. After a reboot and a fresh start, this aircraft still cannot be installed.
FREQUENCY OF ISSUE
It happened twice, across the machine and game restart.

Hi @TAROIKAI, are you in the SU4 Beta?
exact same thing on my end. since the first day of the SU4 Beta i have been having this issue. everything else installs just fine, but this plane fails every single time.
Any word on this? I’ve tried uninstalling, reinstalling, retrying… can’t install this package to save my life
Update: After 2 more restarts of the game it installed correctly.
I continually get this after downloading and trying to install.
and on info this shows
This is in SU4 latest beta build by the way. I have successfully downloaded and installed many other items.
I cannot enter Career mode in SU4 because the C172SP G1000 CESSNA will not install. I get the error message “Mandatory aircraft for the beginning of the Career needs to be updated.” But this aircraft won’t install. I have tried many times. If the FS-BASE-AIRCRAFT-COMMON package is the solution where is it? I cannot find it.
Thanks
You are describing exactly what is happening to me. I can’t believe there isn’t more conversation about this; multiple restarts also are not working for me.
Has anyone made any progress on figuring this out? Is there another forum where this is being discussed? Career mode was working just fine, until it wasn’t (and now, won’t).
Is anyone from the development team reviewing these posts?
Thanks
I just got back in! I was about to uninstall the whole game and reinstall it and stumbled across this info about moving the Packages outside of the overall game file to keep from having to reinstall all the content when all I want to do is uninstall the game. (I was considering dropping out of the SU4 beta to see if that would fix things.) Anyway, I followed these instructions to move the Packages to a new folder on my C:drive and when I restarted I was able to re-enter Career Mode (the mandatory Cessna message was gone).
Not sure if this will be a permanent fix, but it got me further than I’ve been.

I know its for 2020 but I was able to make it work for 2024. Hope this helps someone else.
Thanks

Cannot replicate in the Live version (1.6.34.0):
This is still happening to me on the live version! Tell us your secrets lol
Just downloaded again (ms-store) to test and no issue:
Don’t know why for some users it does not work
If this is the aircraft you normally fly, the fix is leave updates, go to the simulator, pick a different aircraft then go back to updates and try again. If it is the same issue I had it will work.
This is a bug in their updater
It also helps to just delete the aircraft and download it again.
Ensure the C172 G1000 is not your currently active aircraft when on the World Map.
Tip found in a @NixonRedgrave post for a similar issue with another aircraft:
Cannot update Tristar - #4 by NixonRedgrave
Hope it can also help here.
