Cannot install SU5

Guys, I’m based in Asia.
Download (at super high speed, I’m on fiber optic) of SU5 stops at 409MB and restart in a loop.

Anyone else with this issue knows what’s going on ?

Thanks.

Has been stuck for me for 6 hours in Australia cannot get past 2 GB downloaded.

Alright thanks for the feedback (I’m based in HK).
In your case does it get stuck at 2 GB and then nothing, or does the download reset like me ?

I’m also on fiber (1 gig) and had problems. What I usually do is hit the “select all” to be lazy. But this time I had to snag one at a time. It was 4 hours from the time I started until it was done. And then it was 10 minutes to get to the main screen on the first startup. After that it was pretty smooth.

I’m in Tokyo, fast connection, had to give up this morning after several hours of looping downloading / decompressing packages.

Alright fellas.
I’ve given up. Uninstalled the sim and trying to reinstall. I think I should have been a bit more patient and wait perhaps a few days that the servers are a bit less overloaded… but nevermind, too late. Let’s see if this is working better that way.

(had zero issue with the other patches since release date).

Have you guys tried these steps?

Problems here in the UK getting into a loop stuck on one file every so often, currently stuck on Balkans. Checking Explorer around 30 folders were downloaded in about 15 minutes at 5:30 am this mornig, nothing since.

You can try to close the sim without any risk. It will continue where it left off.

What helped for me, was limiting the FPS via nvidia control panel to 30. This way, the CPU/GPU get hammered way less and makes the system a lot more stable. But that’s just my personal experience

I’ve tried everything in Pieter’s link but no joy, so it looks like I too am uninstalling and reinstalling the whole sim sigh.

@Uzura2203

Fellas ok my reinstall is finished, took slightly over 2 hours I think. Very fast.
It worked, I’m now reinstalling my addons.
So in my case, it was not a MSFS server problem, but “something else”. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to try Pieter1982NL’s tricks.

@creekflyer9722 are you sorted down there ? did the limiter do the trick ?

Still no improvement nothing downloaded for nearly 2 hours continuous loop 0 -100% on file for Gibraltar landing challenge. Restart usually progress about 5 folders! only 310 to go hopeless.

Ok so after trying SU5 (and figuring out how to install it as this was, after all, the subject of this thread), I’m getting about 20% more ips (I had recorded ips in 3 different scenarios back home prior to upgrading).
All options same as before upgrading of course…

Good update to me.

I am stuck in an install loop with gibraltar as well. I have closed all extra programs and restarted the PC several times, have signed out and in of Microsoft Store, cleared my community folder, etc. Any suggestions.

Thanks

Same here, Watching the download progress (or lack thereof) I notice that after a restart the speed of down load can be as high as 20 Mb/sec after around 6/7 folders are downloaded the rate drops to 0.2 Mb/sec. No idea why, tried turning off Defender and virus protection, run as administrator etc etc Speed test via Ookla say 27 Mb/sec consistantly. After today I may have to attempt a re instal but not looking forward to that :worried:

Reinstalling took me about 3hrs so I’m finally off to test. My new problem is I can’t find the folders on my C. Drive, although it’s definitely installed there (just booted it up).

Have they changed or renamed the file structure?

About to try re install extremely slow down load for update 24 hours now!

Re install done Using the DVD it passed me to MS store Clicked the MSFS which start a 1.1 Gb instal which took maybe 20 mins restarted and absolutely no difference No idea what to do next short of re format and re instal completely
