Hey Guys,
I have a suspected bug that would be awesome if it could be fixed.
Trying to load into the game at a specific airport, the game just goes crazy. Essentially just freezes - even in “Low” graphics settings. The game works totally fine anywhere else (running at 40-45fps even in Ultra). The bug is as follows.
Day time (various times) and clear skies, no weather. It’s at airport YCBG (Cambridge Tasmania). The route I was taking was enroute to YMLT (Launceston) in a Cessna 172 Skyhawk but I dont think that matters.
It happens when you approach Runway 30. So you can load into the gate and go to Runway 32, it’s fine. But approach Runway 30 and all hell breaks loose. Same with if you load into Runway 30.
This has been tested by various members of the community with the same result.
Thanks guys!
(BTW, I have no idea why this is a “Vote” topic. I didn’t set it as one, and dont know how to turn it off…
)
Does it ever unfreeze? If not, what do you do to exit MSFS?
No it doesn’t ever unfreeze.
Occasionally I have to cntrl-alt-delete to get out. Most of the time I can just exit to main menu then exit out (although this takes forever).
Hey guys.
Just so you are aware, a number of other people are able to recreate this at the same place.
Is this a default or modded / third party airport?
Default. Problem can be replicated by anyone.

Definitely an issue here. Couldn’t spawn at rwy 30 at all. Sim never finished loading. In all other airports it takes me less than a minute and half at best to finish loading. Looked at Task Manager and it seems like a memory leak. Had to do an abnormal/force quit using the End Task option in Task Manager.
Whenever you post something in Bugs section it becomes a voteable topic automatically. It’s a great feature I guess because then people who are having similar problems could vote it up and thus bring it to the attention of those who know how to fix the issue.
You have to be patient, it eventually loads, takes a good 3-5 minutes to load. Still unplayable then and lucky if you can get the UI to respond at all to exit the flight. Alt-F4 is quicker.
