It gets to Quit to Desktop. I have to do this 10 or 12 times (takes about 10 min each time) then come back in about 6-8 hours and it works.

Do you have addons in your community folder, if so have you tried with it empty?

Is this during an installation, or just a normal start?
If in a normal start, where in the start up does the issue occur?
Normal start. This morning I tried it more that 10 times and it started after 2 hours.
If you have a good internet connection, I’d consider doing a reinstall of the sim.

This is a new install.
I would reinstall it, it shouldn’t take much time.
There is no guarantee it will solve the issue, but it is no good the way it is.
I you decide to go this way, uninstall from Windows start menu, delete all left over folders and restart PC.
Install sim and see if that helps.
3 hours ago I thought I would try a setting ATC Enforce Flight Plan like a guy in the forum was suggesting.
I’ve been stuck at Quit to Desktop.
Rebooted 3 or 4 times.
Uninstalled and reinstalled
After 3.25 hrs it finally let me in.

Still going through this,I decided to try something.
I renamed UserCfd.opt. to UserCfg.bak and started the sim…it started right up.
