Can't change Realism settings when Modern flight model is selected

I need to turn Crash Realism down but it’s grayed out. In fact, everything on the page is grayed out, even the Global Preset.

That is correct and how it is designed.

Do NOT use Legacy Flight Model UNLESS you have installed a 3rd party aircraft that specifically states it is required.
( usually aircraft ported from older versions FSX/2004 etc. I’d recommend never to install these honestly..)

You can turn off Crash realism in Assistance Options>Failure and Crash
