Same here. Can’t duplicate or rename. I can create a new blank one fortunately.
Argh.

Argh.
The whole controller config xml’s system is a mess. Overly complicated naming scheme for a few strings. Atleast the Steam version is a bit more accessible. A external app is probably a 1% change to happen (official one) because of the console versions.
Not a single word (yet again) about the status of this major bug.
There seems to be confusion with the Topic referred to in Reply 3 above
that concerns the Controls UI requiring a new Preset when the program thinks a new Preset is required.
This one is Bug Logged.
I don’t consider it a bug because when I get this screen, I just name it the Preset I was changing.
And it has nothing to do with this inability to Duplicate/Rename a Preset and then “save” it.
But, this is a critical bug.
I’m surprised that no more than the few replying and voting has occurred.
No one is Duplicating or Renaming Presets?
That is interesting.
I usually only duplicate or rename a control preset when setting up a new plane or control device. The iFly Max8 was released for 2024 today and I noticed the problem when getting it configured.
I think most of us try to avoid the terrible control interface as much as humanly possible. Only use it when absolutely required. ![]()
I think it’s all connected to the same underlying issue.
Thank you for the bug report.
We have created an internal ticket to see if our team already has this logged, and if not they will attempt to reproduce the issue and create a new bug report. This item is now marked as feedback-logged. If there is an existing bug report or one is created, we will move this thread to bug-logged.
This build took an already challenged control config UI and took a few steps back with laggy response and some nasty bugs. This one and the one mentioned in the other thread about creating new profiles on the hardware sensitivity screen really makes it unusable.
Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?

• possibly be related, but deleting an old preset does not really work correctly either. instead of removing it entirely it briefly flashes the name as i step through the profiles.

• Yes, BUT my platform is Xbox Series X

Still bugged in 1.5.7.0.. maybe they will catch it next build.
1.5.7.0 - SU 3 Beta
PC, MS Store
This is now working.
1.5.7.0 on 6/16/2025
I duplicated a Preset.
Named it Duptest.
Checked it for Assigned Controls.
Quit to Desktop.
Started FS2024 again.
Duptest was still there.
Checked it for Assigned Controls.
It is okay.
It is working fine for me. I created a new profile, saved it and used in on several flights afterwards and after restarting the sim and xbox.
I am able to create a new profile, add some bindings, and save them. In my case, is it duplicate and rename that are not working.
This is interesting. Does rename work?
I just tried again and no go. Wonder if the previous issue corrupted something on my end.
Definitely working. Are you deleting the original name first?
Edit: I was wrong. Just tested and the Rename indeed doesn’t work. All the other options seem to though
Edit2: It looks as if Delete is still bugged as well.
Repro-
As an addition - the TextBox should really not be losing focus when the mouse moves away from it. That is non-standard. A TextBox should only lose focus when you actually click away or hit Enter
Just discovered something with rename. If I rename a profile it does NOT appear to be renamed. But, if I restart FS completely, the profile I tried to rename has the new name.
It is writing out the change but not displaying it until a restart which refreshes the list of displayed names.

I just tried Rename and clicked OK.
New Preset does not show up by clicking the left/right arrows.
Quit FS2024 and started again.
Still not there.
I guess they might be working on it.
As Beta users, we may see different things.
It still says “Bug Logged”.
