Hi, I’ve had fs2020 since release day but I want to find the flight simulator.exe but i can’t find it. I did purchase it through the ms store is that a problem?
Yes. Apps bought from the Store (same for many UWP apps) are stored in a folder that is invisible and initially not accessible to the user.
It is located in “Program Files / WindowsApps”, the latest folder being invisible.
Access to this folder is limited to the TrustedInstaller. If you REALLY need to go there, you can by changing the rights. I suggest you don’t go there if you don’t know what you’re doing.
I already can go to the windows app folder do you know what the file is called
D:\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.12.13.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe
The .exe file is called FlightSimulator.exe
Do you know how to fix this?
In order to get to mine, I had to take ownership of the WindowsApps Folder and all subdirectories within it
Is there a place that can tell me how to do that
I did a search on google for trustedinstaller and it gave me methods of doing it.
It wont let me change the owner
Hmmm I assume the user you are logged on as is an administrator, I think you need to have admin rights to change this.
If you are, then I am not sure I can help you much, the below worked for me.
Right Click on WindowsApps Folder > Security > Advanced
This opens another window ( Advanced Security Settings for WindowsApps)
Next to the owner I clicked on change which opens another window and I changed the owner to all administrators from there.
Yep it doesnt work either
Maybe the solution is through another method. What are you trying to achieve with the exe?
