Can't get past Warning re unexpected ending in last session

I keep getting a message that my last session ended unexpectedly. I have uninstalled all 3rd party mods, and the problem persists. Since I can’t get into the sim the Content Manager is not available, so how do I check to see if I have out of date content? I have loaded all the updates as they came along. Went to the Microsoft store but could not find where to check/reload content.

Hee si the content in my community folder. I don’t think any are 3rd party

drivers up to date.

Thanks

Do you have any external programs that MSFS, e.g. FSLTL, etc, that the sim might still be accessing?

I had Navigraph but deleted it and closed the account, and I just deleted Simbrief and rebooted the pc with same result. I bought the sim from the microsoft store but can’t find where to download it, and not have to pay again. When i log into the store it knows my name, but when I go to NSFS 2020 to reload it, I can only buy it. Never used the Xbox app. System ran fine, but yesterday, no dice, out of the blue. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I’m not a navigraph user, but I know some folks have had issues by not uninstalling everything related to it. You might research how to fully uninstall it. I’ll do some searches and see if I can find an appropriate thread.

Thank you. Just was looking at how to re download the sim, but there seems to several ways to do it. Don’t use steam.

Take a look at this and see if this help resolve the issue.

Thanks for the help. I am a bit confused. FIrst, I can’t find %localAppData%, and second I got the sim from the store, not steam. Is it a hidden file, and will I need admin in order to delete or move it.

Thanks again

First, cut and paste your community folder somewhere outside of the sim file structure for safekeeping.
Next, from the Apps and Features menu of Windows, uninstall the sim.
After that, remove any leftover files that may have been in the sim structure and were not deleted.
Next, from The Window’s Apps and Features menu, advanced features, reset the following apps:
Gaming Services, Microsoft Store, and Xbox.
Ensure MSStore has all updates done, as well as your Windows program itself.

Reboot PC.
Make sure you are signed into the Xbox app and MSStore with the same account.

Try to install sim.

Do you have to use the XBOX App? I was running for a long time without it, then all of a sudden I need it. Don’t understand.

Yes it is required.
My understanding is that all MS streamed games require this.
The sim certainly does.

When I first got the sim it came from the store and I never loaded the xbox app, and everything ran fine. My Son has the sim and does not have the xbox app on his computer and he is running OK. Plus I’ve read that you can get the game from the Store, Steam, or Xbox. When did the change occur that you now need the xbox app?

Well, there is conflicting reports on that.

There are numerous posts in here from folks who have said their sim wouldn’t run without it, but from one of the higher-ups who really should know, I just saw a very recent answer that said you don’t.

So, I’m not sure which is the correct advice!

I got to some area, i don’t remember where, but I deleted the sim and reinstalled it, copied my community folder back, and everything is working fine. Afterwards I noticed that the Xbox app was on my pc.
