I took the long winded approach and re-installed Windows 11 (It needed doing for other reasons) so now am in the position of not only being unable to download the update (1.21.18) but also being unable to install MSFS2020 for exactly the same error messages.
Might need to dust doiwn good old Locheed Martin prepar 4 or is it 5, seems such a long time ago.
Have tried following Sonny3621 comments above to no avail. Made sure all the relevant updates are installed.
Like other comments, I am sure the issue lies within ‘Gaming Services’ and/or Microsoft Store and would suggest repairing’ reset or reinstalling and then just keep trying through the Xbox App.
This sim has the most awkward installation procedure in the solar system.
Why not have the ability to update from within the sim?
Press a big ugly Update button and have the sim close and start the update.
Thank you for your information. Tried everything. No change. Updates for other apps are possible in the MS Store. Windows 10 is on version: 19044.1415.
I’m assuming that the problem isn’t currently with the user. I’ve never had that before. Everything has worked so far.
Tried everything again. No change. No update. Let’s hope for the next update at the end of the month. If it doesn’t work then I don’t know what to do next.
When you say you have tried everything, what all does that include so we may be able to suggest something you haven’t.
I doubt very much that waiting for the next sim update (don’t mix up world updates with sim updates - two different things entirely) will help.
So again for a short summary. Windows 10 is updated. My system is running perfectly. Simupdates have performed correctly since the MSFS was released. Also the last one from the end of 2021. I reset the MS Store and then also uninstalled it. The same for all X-Box apps (X-Box, X-Box Console Companion, X-Box Game Bar) and MS Gaming Services. I have not uninstalled MSFS. I won’t be doing that at the moment either, because it runs cleanly. Currently with version 1.21.13.0. I have no idea what else will help.
Attached is a screenshot from the MS Store. Looks like always.
If I clicked on the cloud at the bottom of the Premium Deluxe Pre-Order, I would first have to select a directory for the new installation of 123 GB.
Only the “play” button is available in the X-Box app. Everything already searched. When MSFS starts, it looks for updates but continues to load normally. Without a message.
Problem solved. First delete the MS Store cache. Then uninstall Gaming Services with Powershell. Then reinstall Gaming Services via MS Store. Then press the update button. Update is here. Unbelievable. Please carry out exactly this order. Regards
