Can't install after Windows 10 reinstall (0x803F8001)

I have had MSFS since day 1 (and was a beta tester before that). Bought from the MS Store. It always worked with no problems for me.

Last month, I tried to download the beta hotfix for SU7. The download kept not working, and later, when I tried to launch MSFS, it kept redirecting me to MS Gaming Services in the MS Store, without working. I researched the topic, tried all the various solutions, and none of them worked. Then, when the most recent build (1.21.18.0) was released, I had hoped that might fix my problem. The update didn’t show up in my MS Store.

So, I bit the bullet and did a clean reinstall of Windows. Got everything up and running, and installed MSFS from the XBox app (I have Premium Deluxe GOTY, but installed the “base version”).

Now, every time I try to run it, from either my desktop, MS Store, or XBox app, I get the following: “Microsoft Flight Simulator is currently not available in your account. Here’s the error code, in case you need it: 0x803F8001”.

The game just will not run. I looked up solutions to this and the only one I found was to log out of MS Store and XBox app and log back in. That did nothing.

Kind of at my wit’s end here and hoping someone can help fix this – went from working fine to needing a full W10 reinstall, to now not even working after that. Really frustrating.

Thanks in advance!

Type in your error code in the search button on the page header .
There are probably 15-20 threads here on that code, with a lot of info-tips.

Thanks, I did that before posting. The results that I saw were to do a clean Windows install, or log out of MS Store and Xbox app, and log back in. I tried the latter, and the issue only came up after I did the former to begin with.
