My ideal worked. I uninstalled msfs. And used a file cleaner to find any leftover files left by this app. Re-downloaded it. And the cleaner seems to have found all the leftover files from my uninstall. Except for my profile.
When I opened the game up and saw my profile pic there, I thought I was going to have to reinstall it. But I went with it as is. And it seems that all the controls are back to default. So no more uninstalling and reinstalling for now.
I couldn’t play the game for 2 days because of being too busy with work. I even picked out a new profile color. I love the game again and hope it gives me many hours of good play/learning 
I did have to force the shutdown by pressing the power button when I was done checking it out. I hope this problem goes away, too.
