Can't taxi once I land and come to a full stop

I am trying to better understand the issue. I’ve tried this in the airliners (A320, B787) and the C172. After landing and coming to a full stop, I apply full power and I don’t move. I turn the parking brake on and off again and I can start moving. If I come to a full stop again, I can’t taxi after applying full power? Any ideas?

I have seen an issue where rudder pedal toe brakes stick “ON” and sometimes cycling them releases the stuck brakes. Also, as you stated, setting/released the parking brake also works. Please report this to Zendesk and include as much information as you can. Thanks.

I also am having trouble when i taxi. If i turn the yoke any at all the throttle goes to full power.

Hi,
the autobreaks may be causing the problem.
When you have turned it on, apply the brakes (not the parking brakes) at around 60 knots and the aircraft will continue to roll freely.

Autobrake is not on for landing and that is not the issue as the C172 does not have an autobrake.

Autobreak ist not for landing - then I got it wrong for years - sorry

Please keep things constructive. Re-read his post, that’s not what he said.

I’ve reported to Zendesk. Thanks.

@CessnaPilot85, I’ve had the same issue with the brakes in the Bonanza. After landing, I went a little past my taxiway and tried to stop and turn sharply and found I couldn’t move with almost full throttle. I looked and the parking brake had switched on. I toggled the parking brake and was able to taxi. I never saw this problem in the Alphas.

That’s interesting. However, when I visually check the parking brake in the C172, it is in the off position. So in my case, I don’t think the parking brake is being accidentally armed.

What I do is turn the parking brake on and then off again to get moving which works until I come to a full stop once more.

Airliner auto (on) braking can also have that effect if it does not release.

Auto braking is not armed so that is not the issue. Issue occurs across all aircraft.

Do you have toe brakes?

Yes, I use the Thrust master rudder pedals with toe brakes. I’ve checked the X,Y,Z axis inside and outside of the simulator and all seem to be in working order.

They aren’t applied are they…ie reverse the axis and give it a go?

No they aren’t applied. I’ve also confirmed by visual reference by pressing and depressing. I also tried reversing the axis. With reverse axis - the plane starts in the full brake position and pressing on the toe brake releases the braking pressure. So that did not work as well.

This is really strange. I’m using the MFG crosswinds with absolutely no issues. Looks like you’ll need to lodge a ticket as per above.
