Seen 1 recent review of C-130E from Captain Sim with a proper cockpit and it didnt look too bad despite the developers previous reputation.
Anyone bought it and can recommend it?
Just don’t. If things break you can’t count on them to ever work.

Yes thats the review i watched and it wasnt too bad.
However, support from the developer if there any future breakages is an issue to consider.
Dev not very generous with pricing and liveries.I think he has so far produced 2 bundles each of three liveries for C130H and C130E. If PMDG can offer free liveries Captain Sim may show some consideration and open up all liveries for use by both H and E versions.A reduced price may be an added bonus.
Wonder what is the difference between H and E versions except perhaps flares or the way it is being presented on the marketplace.Will there be a new version if he adds some paratroopers,HMV or pallets etc.with price again increased by $10-15.
imo, price is too high and liveries should be bundled and cockpit should have been included the 1st time, along with a discount to get thew new model. All that aside, the updated c130 is fine for me. finally have a cockpit, visuals are nice, and basic flight controls work. sufficient for my interests of external flying & eye candy primarily, occasional cockpit & no systems usage

The E is apparently the best with more features and the H would need bringing up to the E quality in terms pf both visuals and features.
Except you could buy a fair few liveries for the price PMDG charges out the door. I think he charges too much too, but comparing them to PMDG in any category is a no go from pretty much any standpoint.
It’s watered-down from their FSX/P3D model, but still interesting to fly. They did this one right, unless you’re looking for study-level, which the CS C-130 never was.
There is a free livery mod on flightsim.to that lets you use free liveries on the plane. Initially, it was another way for CS to make an extra buck, but there has been a work around.

I’m sensing a disturbance in the Force with this one. This is a really nice flight model. I performed a simulated emergency landing at CYVR, and I just greased it down. If I put this beside the Condor or the JU-52, it holds up well.
I’ve been kicking the tires on this and the 130J for a couple of days now, and it’s an excellent bargain with great potential. New sounds coming from Echo 19 for all owners of the module. I like the current sounds just fine, but they will get improvements. The flight model is excellent, one of the best IMHO. Try a simulated power off landing in them.
Correct me if i am wrong. But the only correct variant cockpitwise would be the E. The H and the J have modernized cockpits. Others than represented in the sim??

The E and J are steam gauge cockpits. The J has improved graphics and is a bit more power hungry, but same wonderful flight model. I have no experience with the H. This is the only C130 in the market that I know of.
