Welcome to the 185th flight event with Gunpilot and a whole bunch of other like-minded sim pilots. If you have just discovered these flight events for the first time, welcome aboard and you will be made to feel very much at home with the rest of the pilots on the flight.
The only request we make is that you arrive on the tarmac in the aircraft designated for the flight, and you join in the banter on the supplied COMMS RADIO which can be found in Gunpilot’s Discord server (click on this link to take you directly to Gunpilot’s server GUNPILOT’s Server ).
This weeks flight details:
A squadron of rugged Cessna Grand Caravans are embarking on an adrenaline-pumping flight from the rolling hills of central Italy to the historic heart of Rome. Pilots will navigate through a maze of low-level threatening clouds that seem to grip the landscape, obscuring the mountains and forcing pilots to skirt in some places just above the hill tops. Each pilot will need to stay razor-sharp, as winds are expected to test their skills and courage. The route is anything but ordinary—along the way, they’ll face heart-pounding bush landings in rugged terrain, where one wrong move could spell disaster. The raw beauty of Italy’s wilderness will be unforgiving, eaving no room for error.
But that’s just the beginning. In a daring display of skill, the group will push the boundaries of aviation by flying low, weaving their Caravans beneath bridges, mere feet above the water. The ultimate challenge looms ahead as they attempt a dead stick glide from a hilltop, engines cut, aiming to stretch their glide to reach the airport runway without a crash. With no room for second chances, every decision made mid-air will define whether they touch down smoothly or risk a harrowing descent into chaos. This is no ordinary flight—it’s a high-stakes test of precision, nerve, and sheer mastery of the skies.
*Again, a packaged up WEATHER file has been developed and included along with the flight plan, negating any need for anyone to dial in weather settings, as well as ensuring that all pilots are experiencing exactly the same weather conditions. The Weather Preset file is located in #gunpilots-events (click this link GUNPILOT’s Server ) to be taken there. Extract file into your Community Folder prior to launching your sim for the flight.
