Career Missions Don't Load if Live Weather is OFF

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: After getting my IFR rating I noticed that Career Mode injects Live Weather into mission, which makes them hard or impossible to complete due to constant high winds. However, after I disabled Live Weather in the Options menu, every Career mission failed to load. The simulator was stuck on the world map screen when selecting any mission. Re-enabling Live Weather immediately solved it, but also brought back high winds.

• Yes

• Seems like my wind might be getting doubled - see image of two windsocks - this might explain the bobbling effect

If relevant, provide additional screenshots/video:
• Yes will attach

I‘m on PC and i checked this after the transport missions didn‘t load anymore. With live weather on they load, without, they dont. Flight seeing missions though work regardless of weather settings.

• Career mode didn’t have any quality assurance at all. There isn’t a single part of it that works 100%. Allow us to turn off this insane constant wind in career mode.

I have a theory that Live Weather is used in some sort of calculation to give you career weather a little more dynamics. Which is why a lot of people are complaing about high winds and turbulence.
Think its based on some sort of Math where local Live weather - what the aircraft you can fly and your certs.

So if your local weather is a major rain storm, and you don’t have Instrument Rating or flying a 172 or simular. It takes current METAR data and does some sort of math to get the weather to be somewhat acceptable for your certs and plane.

In case of winds, if you have local winds of 30 Knts.. Thats too high for the 172 do the sytem does some math to get it lower.. Say 10-15 Knts… Which is still a little high for a 172.

Which would make sense with your issue now, if you have shut off Live Weather.. It has nothing to calculate against.

This is not the case, see the dedicated wind post. We are trying everything across the entire globe. The wind is not the same worldwide IRL, so there is no way what you are saying is true. It’s just broken. I hope we will find a glitch at some point that causes wind to be not crazy in every mission across the entire planet.

Are you saying its world wide same weather.. No way, last 2 days I couldn’t fly in New England area without high wind so I switched to Europe area I had opened and it was smooth as silk. Its certainly based on live weather. Maybe its bugged yes, but for sure its based on calculations from live weather. How it works is anyones guess.

East coast of US has been like 20kt cross wind since launch even though METAR disagrees every where I’ve checked that I have flown to.

As you said, maybe it’s bugged, but since launch it’s been pretty terrible in the eastern US for me and not accurate at all. Makes the 172 missions extremely hard. Most people would not fly in these conditions IRL in such planes.

What’s odd is that clouds, snow, rain, and all other weather stuff seems to be very accurate. It’s just wind that seems to be way off. In southern PA there was a snow storm, and I took a mission there to see what would happen and it was a snow storm. So clearly it’s not all weather data that is bugged.

Its definetly messed up than like you said. But I’m flying from France to England right now on a cargo mission, and the wind is 0. LOL. But I also started selecting that option before you start the mission in the lower right hand corner that says clouds (turns them off or on) and I always get 0 wind now. So maybe try that and see if it helps. I can’t prove if it does anything.. I know for sure that it clears the clouds out from the map, and the mission though.

I turned live weather off this morning to see if it helped. My first mission I loaded up took about five minutes to load. It was still windy, but not like it was with the live weather on. For me it’s working with live weather off on Xbox, but it’s still really windy in some missions I load up. But I was finally able to fly the helicopter 65 nm today. Before I couldn’t fly it at all. I saw on another post someone had 70 knot winds on the g1000 so it’s definitely buggy.
