Career mode Boeing 737 Altitude bug change freezes all other controls for 20+ seconds

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: Any significant change to the Altitude selector bug on the autopilot panel causes all other controls to become non-responsive for about 20 seconds. It appears that there is a recalculation routine taking place that is very CPU intensive and not asynchronous or optimized, and that is preventing any other actions such as entering a new altitude in the flight computer until that computation completes.

Reproduceable almost always for me once in the air and running VNAV + LNAV.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue: stock 737
