Career Mode – Bugs persist after SIM Update 2 (PC-12, PC-24, 737, skip feature...)

Despite eagerly waiting for SIM Update 2—hoping it would fix many of the long-standing issues in Career Mode—I’ve noticed new problems have appeared… and some older, very frustrating ones are still not addressed.

:small_airplane: New issues introduced after SIM Update 2

  • Pilatus PC-12: When skipping a leg, a battery warning appears along with a continuous alarm. This doesn’t affect aircraft performance, but it’s extremely annoying. The only way to stop the alarm is to shut down and restart the engine—not exactly ideal mid-flight.

:hammer_and_wrench: Persistent unresolved issues

  • Pilatus PC-24:
    • If you skip the cruise phase (even when cruising at FL300), the aircraft often respawns on the ground, resulting in an instant crash and mission failure.
    • When it doesn’t crash, the wheels are frequently locked after landing, making it impossible to taxi to the holding point and complete the mission.
  • Boeing 737:
    • After skipping cruise, the aircraft is uncontrollable when it respawns.
    • If you skip boarding (passengers, baggage, etc.), the game often flags this as “leaving the aircraft before the service is complete”, which drastically reduces your reputation, even if everything else was done correctly.

:warning: General systemic issue: Skip = Penalty

Across many missions, it seems impossible to get 100% for procedure compliance—even when following all ATC instructions precisely, with no errors or delays. I almost always get capped at 75%, and it’s unclear why.

:repeat_button: Conclusion

The skip feature is overly punitive. I understand MSFS aims for realism—and that’s great—but in that case, don’t offer a skip option. Or if you do, make sure it actually works.

For many of us, sitting through 8-hour flights with minimal interaction isn’t always enjoyable. If skipping is part of the design, it should support the gameplay experience, not break it.

Thanks for reading, and I hope this gets addressed soon.

Moderator Edit: Hello, my career mode is at level 109 and with 1,000,000,000 cr. but I didn’t have an airline at all until an update some time ago and less cr., plus everything is unlocked and the career can’t be reset, not even after reinstalling the game. Games via MS-Store.

Vermutlich bist du in der Beta. Da ist das ganz normal, siehe den angepinnten Post im Beta-Forum

Moderator Edit: You’re probably in beta. That’s quite normal, see the pinned post in the beta forum

I experienced the same issue. Skipping to descent leads to an immediate crash and thus to a massive reduction in reputation which leads to a loss of credits for completing upcoming missions.
Releasing a highly advertised feature in a state like that is a shame. But at least it does not do damage to the planes anymore like it was before, but the devs should really think abut “refunding” career players credits based on their career level. All the bugs since launch cost me at least 20 million credits.

Having the same issue. Skip to descent places me on the ground near the airport. Then a message “you cant land here” and mission failure.

I occasionally get a restricted airspace warning even though I’m on flight plan…Oh and all the above from the OP!

Same issue here, PC24 spawns on the ground followed by crash after skipping to descent… Very frustrating.

It’s probably me but I’m having braking issues with the PC-24. I’m landing around 110 knots and the brakes seem very spongy and ineffective. I really struggle to land in anying less than 5000 ft of runway, forgot landing on a 3000 ft runway. The minimum runway length for the PC-24 is around 2500 feet.

I have all of these same issues. I have worked really hard to progress to the PC12 and then the PC24. Each of these aircraft were massive disappointments and really made me wish i hadn’t spent the time or money to play this game or fly these aircraft.

PC-12 has many issues but the most notable to me were the low speed prop mode not working, resulting in taxi speed violations and lost rep, or over using the brakes. Additionally the cabin pressure bug has not been fixed. I have to cruise at 17,000 ft or the mission fails from hypoxia

PC-24 is very near impossible to fly on console.

Throttle:
The throttle doesn’t respond to increases on my controller at all. I have to manually select each throttle in cockpit view, increase or decrease one engine and then quickly increase or decrease the other engine to match throttle. After that, if you hit ‘B’ to decelerate at all, it will immediately drop your thrust to 0%.
Auto throttle does work. However it is very touchy and will cause erratic engine thrust, going from 100% to 0% because it is unable to manage a stable air speed.
Fuel use" bug:
Fuel burn is out of control. I was doing a medium cargo mission. The mission recommened 40% fuel load to complete the flight. I always overfill, and put 65% fuel load - over loading the max takeoff weight. With a cruise altitude of 44k feet at 0.63 mach, i was on literal fumes by the time i made it to my destination. I even reduced ascent climb rate to just over +1k fpm and that did not help the fuel burn.

“Skip to descent” bug:
Because the fuel burn was so high for my second flight, I tried to use the skip feature in order to prevent mission failure from fuel depletion. However as soon as I used skip to descent, the altitude dropped me into the sea and caused immediate mission failure.

The 3 mission i tried i managed all of these bugs, however the airport i landed at did not connect to ATC, and did not register that i made it to Final. I parked following the waypoint guidance and it never gave me credit for finishing the flight. I again tried to use skip to descent, and again the flight failed.

All of these issues have occurred since the update on 6/19/25.
