Despite eagerly waiting for SIM Update 2—hoping it would fix many of the long-standing issues in Career Mode—I’ve noticed new problems have appeared… and some older, very frustrating ones are still not addressed.
New issues introduced after SIM Update 2
- Pilatus PC-12: When skipping a leg, a battery warning appears along with a continuous alarm. This doesn’t affect aircraft performance, but it’s extremely annoying. The only way to stop the alarm is to shut down and restart the engine—not exactly ideal mid-flight.
Persistent unresolved issues
- Pilatus PC-24:
- If you skip the cruise phase (even when cruising at FL300), the aircraft often respawns on the ground, resulting in an instant crash and mission failure.
- When it doesn’t crash, the wheels are frequently locked after landing, making it impossible to taxi to the holding point and complete the mission.
- Boeing 737:
- After skipping cruise, the aircraft is uncontrollable when it respawns.
- If you skip boarding (passengers, baggage, etc.), the game often flags this as “leaving the aircraft before the service is complete”, which drastically reduces your reputation, even if everything else was done correctly.
General systemic issue: Skip = Penalty
Across many missions, it seems impossible to get 100% for procedure compliance—even when following all ATC instructions precisely, with no errors or delays. I almost always get capped at 75%, and it’s unclear why.
Conclusion
The skip feature is overly punitive. I understand MSFS aims for realism—and that’s great—but in that case, don’t offer a skip option. Or if you do, make sure it actually works.
For many of us, sitting through 8-hour flights with minimal interaction isn’t always enjoyable. If skipping is part of the design, it should support the gameplay experience, not break it.
Thanks for reading, and I hope this gets addressed soon.
