Re wind conditions: I found there are settings in assist that allow you to limit turbulence. I found when set to real weather I faced some hairy cross wind landing issues.
In a 172 max allowance is 25knt.
In game I guess you need to look at cross wind issues at your arrival location and decide if the runway orientation favours an upwind landing. Tower is probably not going to advise you about unsuitability for landing due to out of limit cross winds! That would be too real. Good idea for asobo to include otherwise its not really a simulator.
