Career Mode not loading - Before & After Patch
I have yet to be able to access career mode. There is either a lock icon over the main menu option or it says “Career Inaccessible - problem with server” error and takes me back to main menu. This has been persistent for me since day 1. All other aspects of the sim are available to me. I have tried the following:
- Reinstalled & rebooted scores of times
- Installed on 2 different PCs, XBox Series X, and XCloud. All same outcomes.
- Deleted cloud save on PC & XBox
- Cleared DNS Server & rebooted
- Removed MSFS 2020 & validated no items in community folder for either 2020 or 2024
- All systems and apps are current
High-end PC with fiber internet. DX12. Microsoft Store purchase.
When I start the game after uninstalling and reinstalling - it takes me through setup, but my character identity is already selected. The character identity seems to never reset. I believe this is the root of the problem. My guess is that my character profile is corrupted on the server side and the career mode depends on the character identity. Just a guess though because it’s nothing stored locally as I’ve tried it on various machines.
Is this inability to access career mode and the associated server errors a known issue and on the list for an upcoming fix? Thanks!
