Career Mode issues

O52 uses right hand traffic on rwy 17 to avoid interference with KMYV

I need to turn off wind tunnel fx
Great Sim!
Activities: Flight Training: Basic Handling: : Power Settingsq.

The instructor referenced a tachometer on the PFD.. It is showing only on the MFD.

Can yoi add S-Turns, Turns around a point and emergency procedures to Flight Training? Thrown in some touch and goes The first endorsement should be a solo before the PPL Thanks!

If your windows pc username has an accented letter like ą ę ć ƛ Ƃ, the game might go to a loop because it’s trying to make a save file but places it in the wrong folder.

I can’t get the career mode to work. Something is wrong with the mixture. I can take off but the mixture changes and the engine stops. I have the mixture control set to auto in the assistance .

Been playing career mode in VR and so far these are the issues I have seen:

Constantly being penalized for things that I didn’t do wrong: Like flap overspeed penalty
when the aircraft isn’t even moving, and I haven’t touched the flaps.

ANNOYING mission steps window ALWAYS starts directly center of my field of view, and often I cannot move it even when the mouse cursor changer to the move cross. But can minimize it. This window should be well out of the middle of the player’s FOV

Voiceovers are unrealistic and immersion breaking. They don’t talk like normal aviators, ATC controllers, or even normal humans.

Penalized for switches being in the worng positions (landing lights etc) when I cannot even switch them with the mouse or my HOTAS despite having mapped them.

Button and key mappings don’t stay set and have to be reset all the time.

Passenger models are ALWAYS terribly ugly people. Why can’t I at least fly an attractive woman around once in a while? Why is everyone SO UGLY!? This is minor i know but it’s obvious and ridiculous.

Why the extreme DEI? I have been in aviation for MANY decades, and I have met exactly 2 black woman pilots. Looks at the demographics and make the game represent the real world
not your DEI fantasy land

Most heli missions if skipping ahead the heli jolts wildly and ruins the passenger’s experience.

Much of the text to voice has mispelling and immersion breaking grammar.

Couldn’t even get going in Career Mode. Started at South Lake Tahoe. Initial takeoff was fine but the waypoint to “Upwind” is showing 3934nm. Might take a while in a Skyhawk. After 5min or so the waypoint disappears.

I wanted to restart the journey at some other airport but unsure how.

alt&n works for such erroneous routes.

My first mission was supposed to be between 2 airports in Nottinghamshire (UK), but the destination was also over 3,000nm away, off the west coast of Africa.

I took off anyway and when I pressed Alt&N, it took me to a bit of the Atlantic to circle around and then gave the option to alt&n back to the approach into my original airport.

You’ll lose some XP, but it doesn’t take long and the probably less than 100lbs of fuel is miraculously enough.

Airplanes refuse to taxi. Like an invisible wall is in front of them. If you force it you might get passed or sometimes your plane tilts an then the wing hits the ground and you crash. This always happens to non Cesna planes.

If you are on xbox, to turn off arrows and way points press LB and press the left stick at the same time

So based on the official message above, there will be no effort to give an option to turn all marker functionality off for the full experience? Back to third party apps if thats the attitude this team wants to go with. Let me guess, no attempt will be made to allow career players to use live atc, or 3rd party atc?

It would be nice if we had an option to “opt out” of the blue carpet experience entirely. Call it a hardcore mode or something. Mission completion and scoring would need to be based on different parameters and triggers. Player picks the routing, player chooses the fuel load, player makes the flight plan (this is where you hook in on the back end), player gets dinged for damage, exceedances or violations (bring the pain I say- so long as it’s accurate!), player gets paid extra for being his own flight release and dispatch department. You get to bypass all the bellyaching from people who know how to do this stuff better than the built in automation does (no offense).

Some of the ATC dings are kinda silly too. I got a red x for “entering a taxiway without clearance”- when tower just finished telling me to take the next exit and contact ground. The game should not require you to come to a complete stop to get a taxi clearance after landing, by the way. Lots of airports you’ll get your taxi clearance to park from tower before you’re even off the runway. Like I get it. Someone you guys talked to told you “pilots should always bring the aircraft to a complete stop after exiting the runway and do not stop until the entire aircraft is clear of the hold short line”. (new CFI’s- so precious am I right?) But in the real professional flying world it is not that way. Try stopping your aircraft in the movement area at an airport like Sky Harbor without being told to and let me know how that goes for you. Hint- it will likely involve shaming and/or yelling.

Runway exit instructions and timing could use a little love too. Tower telling me to take next exit and immediately unrolling the blue carpet in my face so soon after touchdown is not pleasant (nor is it, virtually speaking- “safe”). If tower (or the AI back end) has a specific exit in mind it should be assessing my energy state, and estimate where I am likely to be able to exit, just like a real tower controller would. Or they could issue a back taxi exit. Either way, I’m not going to be able to make the exit that’s 200 feet in front of me if I am still rolling out at 70. Sorry!

Lots of potential here but please you guys gotta start listening to the right people. I’ll write more later.

What’s also funny, is, that you ask the tower for taxi clearance at an untowered airport for a VFR flight

Never had this
which frequency do you tune to do this?
What you have to do though, is to announce your taxi intentions on the central frequency, for other pilots in the area to be aware.

Afaik, you dont have to follow the blue boxes, you can plan and fly your own route and wont get penalized (at least not significantly).

I was wondering about the ungodly ugly human models. Like seriously, a first year 3d modeler could make better looking faces.

Same here, not able to even start the career mode due to the glitch where I’m walking ‘underground’ - two patches have been released now, but it’s still not been fixed!
