The initial airfield I selected had messed up terrain. There were big jagged bumps in the runway. So after getting in the plane for the initial flight, I couldn’t take off without immediately crashing. I had to go into my profile, reset career mode, and select a different airfield to start from. Maybe restrict selection to airfields that are “known good”?
It would be nice if there were more/better guidance on aircraft performance. I keep getting warning messages for exceeding limits with no explanation of what those limits are. I had to go look up some information on the web.
Also, the default flight plans are often complete garbage. My first flightseeing mission had a flight plan that instructed me to climb to 10K ft, well above the maximum safe altitude for a 172, and obviously too high for the 1K ft sightseeing segment of the flight. I started manually checking/adjusting the cruising altitude after that.
