Most of the missions in MSFS 2024 don’t make any sense. It would be better if Asobo designed the missions like in almost all other games. I get the appeal of randomized missions but as a simulation geek I need realistic missions.
I have often used sim rate. In VR, I am using the VoiceAttack software to do keystrokes to increase/decrease sim rate but I notice when I use the increase sim rate binding, my view also gets reset so some other binding is being called. I have not figured out autopilot either so using a faster sim rate makes flying a straight line rather difficult at times.
I personally don’t mind the long missions. More time in the air means more hours for my fleet flown by my Crew. Meaning the Passive Income is higher. My only hope will be that you’re allowed to land at bigger airports.
Have to fully agree with the sentiment of this topic. It’s just not representative of real aviation. Medium sized cargo in places like Papua New Guinea can be only 20 or 30 mins flying time but can be some of the most rewarding/challenging flights.
Need to be able to have some shorter enjoyable flights without using sim-rate. Also reduces the chance of me losing 6 hrs of effort to a CTD.
yeah it says 5hr 30 mins for a medium cargo run but in reality it’s 4 hours depending on weather. This is the only option if you want to fly medium cargo airplanes and it is absurd. Operating out of tiny airports that you would never fly these airplanes into IRL on top of the absurd 4 hour flight just isn’t a great fit for this style of flying to me. I want the option to choose any of my airplanes in my fleet that I own and use them on any route that is available. Light cargo should be able to use medium cargo airplanes if you want, you are the one paying for the fuel and operational costs in the end.
I kinda disagree on the length. If it was a 1 hr flight, they’d just throw it in a van and drive it for a fraction the cost.
True in some places, but there are plenty of shorter cargo flights. It often depends on road infrastructure and geography - mountains and/or lack of transverse roads (interstates, in particular) can make them useful. For example, there are a lot of FedEx feeder flights in the US that are 30-90 minutes.
yep feeder flights aren’t going to be 4 hours plus in a lot of cases
