I’m getting along fairly well with many aspects of MSFS2024. I’d like to try the Career mode, but can’t seem to get it started. I select “Career Mode,” it asks me for a start location, I type in an airport, it zooms me to the 10,000 ft view, and then just sits there. I see no other buttons to push. Am I waiting for something? Am I missing something? Thanks for any help you can give me.
Obvious ask, but did you try restarting the sim? My Career Mode occasionally gets stuck on a loading screen like that, and restarting seems to fix it. If that doesn’t help, there’s also a problem right now where a lot of missions are missing due to what looks like a glitch in the date system. Perhaps that’s preventing you from picking a start location too.
Even if you get into the Career Mode, users are reporting First Flight missions are entirely missing right now, so you won’t be able to progress very far.
Thanks for the reply! Yes, I have tried restarting it several times - in fact, often it’s the first and last thing I try during a flight sim session.

Just wanted to check and make sure this topic is still open. Has anyone else had this problem, or is it just me? Thanks!
I have the same problem. Choose an Airport, zooms in… can’t go beyond that. SIm doesn’t crash or anything, but just cannot go forward into career mode.
I do have exactly the same behavior. I can select whatever airport I like, I see this 10000ft view and nothing moves forward. I tried at different times, dates etc, it just sits there and nothing happens.
I can’t even get past the loading screen. I select career, then it goes to a black screen with the spinning circle in the bottom right, and just stays there. Free flight works fine, though.
I think I found (a possible) solution.
What I did in the past was to put in a 4 letter code for a particular airport where I wanted to start the career. As posted above this did not get me anywhere. What worked for me was to select a particular airport (so far nothing changes), then press the “x” next to this input field.
With that I did see another (only one in my case) airport, a much smaller one, nearby which I selected. And selecting this brought up the career mode and I was able to move on and do something in it.
This solution worked for me
