I’m using the slight nose up indicated for takeoff, full fuel load, full cargo and 435 lbs of pilot & passenger with Live weather and have not had any issues… Just need to adjust your trim as you raise gear and remove stages of flap.
No issue here. When you say you can’t get it to load, does the sim crash, or hang? Or does the aircraft not even appear in your aircraft list? It could be some other incompatible mod, for instance if you have the 750 active to use in the 337 but still have the G1000 NXi active, that can cause conflicts that could maybe prevent the plane from working.
I don’t like it, but luckily for me I discovered only some of the liveries have the green tint!
Highly unlikely. Even if the SDK for MSFS supported such details, I’m skeptical that the rear engine’s behavior is any different from the front engine’s regardless of the OAT on the ramp.
You have to understand that when you are in takeoff profile, you are only just barely above the stall speed. If you induce a large amount of drag, then your airspeed could just likely (and IRL probably will) drop into the stall range, and then you are in trouble right away. When you wait until you have established a good rate of climb and air speed, it will be safer to raise the gear. There have been several comments from others who have used the aircraft in-sim, and they have said that this drag is not modelled, so you need not worry about it - I guess. Shame, because it takes some of the reality away from performance. You could assume, if you want realism, that it is modelled and make your takeoff accordingly, as if you are IRL. Then you would be one step ahead of those who do not bother to achieve accurate performance.
Would love to find out how to use the autopilot in Nav mode. It’s pretty confusing.
Thanks for the explanation. It sounds like in general the rule of thumb immediately after takeoff is “don’t touch anything, you’re already flying” because retracting the gear alters the aerodynamics enough to potentially cause a stall. I’ll definitely simulate this in my procedures since the flight model doesn’t do it for me.
Standard procedure in a retractable gear aircraft. Always establish positive rate of climb; let it stabilize, and then retract gear. Settle in at Vx or Vy depending on the field… you’re on your way! ![]()
I find the C337 oversensitive to rudder input, both on the ground (takeoff run) and on flight
The weather radar in the Skymaster is the same as in the Piper Seneca.
It has a test screen, and a on function with the second button on the left array switching between horizontal and vertical scan.
The weather radar does not swipe nor is it actualizing while flying, which means even if you set heavy thunderstorm as current weather the screen will stay empty. But there is a workaround for this, you either switch it off and on again, or to the test screen and back to on - now you will get a static image of the cloud formations.
If you change the scan range the image will again not change, you must first set the desired scan range, and switch the radar off and on again to get an actualized weather scan on the screen.
I have never been able to purchase from the market place, why did they do this. Guess I won’t be getting it as much as I like it.
The plane turns left and noses up as soon as I apply power, will not go above 40kts and will not respond to inputs. Graphics show elevator moving but plane will not take off!
What is the ground handling like out of interest? I’ve had issues with Carenado here before but I’ve been happy with most of their stuff generally. She does look nice though.
Sounds like you might be on ‘Legacy’ flight model in your settings. It should be set to ‘Modern’. A few other users have posted similar feedback on the Carenado facebook page.
I am guessing if a developer wants to override the cockpit position for VR mode, they use PilotVR, otherwise it is Pilot.
Thanks, that was it! Now if I could only get ATC to show, won’t work with keyboard or mapped button on controller.
Carenado is exclusive to the MSFS Marketplace… some kind of deal they made prior to release in August 2020. It has not served them well. The speed of updates is very slow, and there are too many other very good (and a couple of great) developers to compete with.
I adjusted my seat position for PilotVR in the Cameras.cfg file. View is great for me now.
Crashed to Desktop 3 times in a row. ???
