Carenado cessna 170 - engine keeps running

Hello.

Has anyone else had an issue where after pulling the mixture the engine keeps running? It has only happened to me twice, but I can’t work out why. I pulled the throttle back to idle, pulled the mixture to lean, the propellor slowed, but did not stop. Turned master off and switches to off. But it still kept spinning. I dont think it is a bug as such, I think I am not doing something right.

Any ideas please?

What was the wind like where you landed?

2020 aircraft engines will windmill like crazy in windy conditions.

I’ve seen this often in the C170B, and many other aircraft.

Strong. That would probably explain it, as it has not happened today.
