I still use 2020 a lot and tend to buy on the marketplace in 2020. Would be bad if Carenado will never upgrade and I had to buy twice.
Same here, however, Iâve noticed what may be a new trend. If a new for 2024 product appears in the 2024 MP, and I buy it there, it sometimes appears in the 2020 MP later on as a new purchase. What I am getting is that if I buy a 2020 model in the 2020 MP, and it is later upgraded to 2024 COMPATIBLE, then I can enable that in My Library for free. If a new for 2024 version later appears, that I will have to buy/pay for to own the 2024 upgrade.
Therefore, I am now very picky about what I am buying new for 2024, as I do not wish to buy the same add-on twice. I added the 182Q to 2024 because I am doing more GA flying in 24 nowadays so it makes sense to buy new GA for 24, and not 2020 where I maintain my old airline collection.

I bought the 182Q in 2020 and it flies ok in 2024:
Today I found that there is an upgrade to the 2024 version of the 182Q. I would have to pay ⏠22,19 for it. This is ridiculous.

I bought it on release for 2024. I hope I donât have to pay a âdowngradeâ price for the 2020 version. <tongue lodged firmly in cheek>
It does seem like something has gone wrong here. I donât have 2020 installed any more, but I assume buying the 2024 version automatically gives access to the 2020 version? If the price is the same, the reciprocal arrangement would be fair.

Just take a look in 2020. I bet you would have to buy it there again.
Iâm afraid I will have to buy all my Carenado aircraft again in 2024 as soon as they are upgraded. But honestly, I probably I will refuse.

In the 2024 marketplace, it says in plain text, if you will get the corresponding product in 2020. For those products, yes it certainly is better to buy in 2024.

No, it doesnât actually say that for the C182Q. Did you say you got it in 2020 as well? The lack of this description implies that the 2020 version wouldnât be included in the purchase.
