Just installed the carenado Mooney but having a problem with the autopilot climb I select a altitude press the arm button but the aircraft doesn’t climb of course ap is on obviously I’m doing something wrong any help please
There have been some changes on how works the AP with the M20R since launch, maybe due to some changes too on the GNS530 side. I don’t know if it works like that IRL and I think the original manual that comes with the plane regarding the AP does not apply anymore. I don’t know if Carenado is planning to bring back the original AP logic but meantime you need to follow those steps in order to activat the VS (I have that plane so I confirm it works):

If you want to climb you have to tell the AP which mode to use for the climb. Pretty much all GA autopilots work the same in this regard. It’s a 3 step process to change altitude.
1 - pre select new altitude.
2 - select climb power and the AP climb mode VS, PITCH, IAS, FLC
3 - select the climb mode rate ft/min, nose up angle, airspeed. Sometimes this gets set automatically set depending on AP and mode.
