Carenado Mooney M20R Ovation

I guess they are waiting to see if tomorrow’s MSFS update fixes it.

Just updated the sim. The buttons work now (animation + sound) and the yoke can be hidden but the CTD clickspots remain…

It’s abit tiresome to test, but CTD seems to occur whenever a button is clicked that can also be operated by using the mouse wheel (cursor becomes an arrow in a circle) except for the ignition key (?).
I’ll do a test flight now to check the AP and then report back to Carenado.

So if you don’t click it won’t crash? I never use the click function on rotaries, only the mouse wheel, so I could live with that till they fix it.

Exactly. Mouse wheel works fine (I think it worked before the sim update as well, right?).
I don’t click either. I just wanted to see if they fixed the CTD issue.

Yes. I never actually flew either Carenado aircraft during the last patch, plus the hotfix. I read about the problems so just flew other things. Sometimes I think I need a gentle push to try other things, like the excellent modded G36.

Mooney is still not flyable. Turn the heading knob and you can see your computer desktop.
We are waiting for the patch from Karenado.

not noticed this CTDs because normaly there is no reason to click at these “buttons” ( e.g. OBS ) for me ( use mouse wheel ).

But yes, I can agree that each “click” cause CTD… normaly rotating works fine.

Did you turn the HDG knob by clicking or by using your mouse wheel? Using the mouse wheel works fine for me.

Mouse wheel

First test flight completed. AP ALT hold works if you trim your plane approx. level before engaging it. HDG and NAV work as well with some very slight oscillation when holding a heading.

Funny (new?) bug: Changing the weather triggers the warning test switch.

Rudder seemed very sensitive but that might have been that way before the updated. Havent’t flown the mooney in 2 weeks… I’ll check another plane now.

The crashes when I click on controls continue after this new patch

Just did a test flight of the M20R in v1.10.11.0 and had no issues.

I was just coming back to report the exact same thing. After spending about 20 hours in the Mooney learning about RNAV and ILS I came to the same conclusion. The only CTD’s that I get are when I click on a spot on a dial that can be turned (the cursor changes to the turn cursor). You CAN click on the top of a dial that can also be pressed without CDT, but you have to be careful that the cursor is not displaying the turn cursor but is instead displaying the normal pointer. Also, you can click on any switch without CDT. At least this is my experience.

Unless you have a updated version not from the Marketplace that’s impossible. It still crashes on turning knob(s)

This was almost the only plane I flew and started flying the A320 after the problems started with the .5 update but now we can wait again… I’m pretty ■■■■■■ off tbh.

simple do not click on dials ( this are no buttons ) … I guess you have a mouse with a mouse-wheel. Just use that

My bad - it does CTD if you click a knob - I was OK using the mouse wheel in my first test.

CTD… hate it…

Still CTDing when pushing AP-related buttons (e.g. altitude meter).

but you have to click to set vertical speed. And if you not click exactly where you must to click the game crash
