I use the mooney M20R regularly, and have done nothing above/beyond the realsimgear install (and I use GNS530 mod) and it works perfectly!
Ok thanks. Maybe I’ll try to completely reinstall the Mooney
I just bought the RealSimGear gns530. Together with the gns530 mod and the Carenado M20R it has made the sim incredibly fun. Here is what you need to paste into your panel.cfg:
[Vcockpit09]
size_mm=0,0
pixel_size=0,0
texture=$SpeedDisplay
htmlgauge00=WasmInstrument/WasmInstrument.html?wasm_module=data/RSG_WASM_Connector.wasm&wasm_gauge=RSG_WASM_Connector, 0,0,0,0
Yes! This indeed was what I was looking for. Many thanks!!
Are the panel.cfg changes needed for JUST the gns530 mod?
Are the panel.cfg changes needed for JUST the gns530 mod?
Only to make the buttons on the hardware RealSimGear gns530 work.
Thanks for the quick response.
Do you know if the Mooney model has prop de-ice?
No, this model does not have that option.
But there are commands you can assign to keystrokes if you so desire.
Hi, I have another type of trouble with my <mooney since I added GNS530mod, while the GNS is a pleasure to use and much more realistic, the APR mode on my AP no more works (the NAV mode is OK) , I can no more use it on an ILS app ![]()
Anyone knows how to fix this ?
Thank you
AP NAV and APR works perfect with me with the GNS530 mod. No issues.
Check if no other mod in community folder interferes with your AP APR.
Hi, quite new to the sim first post here on the forum.
Did you manage to find the key combination?
It’s the only thing I need to use the mouse for (and I use track-ir so it isn’t pleasant at all).
Thanks in advance!
Hello. Was not able too. I still need to click the ARM. Then use “Control + Home” and “Control + End” to increase/decrease the vertical speed.
Reposting. Anyone managed to bind with the controls/keyboard the ARM - Altitude Select Mode Button? Thanks.
Is anyone able to get a glidepath indicator on the HSI when doing a RNAV approach with vertical guidance. I have done a couple and do not receive the glidepath.
The native GNS530 in MS2020 is very poorly modeled and it does not provide RNAV glideslope information to the HSI, only ILS glideslope. The Mooney M20R is using this native GNS530. The HSI will show the glideslope only in ILS approach. The autopilot in the MS2020 Mooney M20R will start a descent toward the runway at some point beyond the final approach fix but the HSI will not show it. Carenado also sells an almost identical Mooney M20R for XP11. The native GNS530 in XP11 is far superior to the one in MS2020 and it simulates the real GNS530 quite well though not completely. Also the Mooney M20R in XP11 by Carenado is better than in MS2020 with respect to operational performance sound and look despite consuming less than half the disk storage place.
Thank you for your answer about the APR mode, you’re right I had a 3rd party livery for my Mooney in the community folder, and it was responsible of this !!
And by the way, I’m an ironDad too ![]()
Hervé
I agree with you that the GNS530 is poorly modeled, you can use 3rd party programs to upgrade it, it will be a little better.
I don’t understand why you write : at some point beyond the final approach fix but the HSI will not show it ?? while in ILS mode the glide is visible and in RNAV mode nothing happens … let me know if I missed something
WoW! My trainer is in front of my PC. At cruising altitude with Mooney, I am spinning my bike.
Take care. Stay fit.
Same for me !!
