Carenado PA44 Seminole Update 1.5.0

The patch notes today said Carenado addressed 2 sound issues. Well IMO they made it worse, Just flew a leg now and the interior sounds are comparable to my lawn mower stuck down a sewer pipe at full revs! The file size has shrunk from 1. 6 gig to 600 mb?. Can someone comment on the internal sounds please. I’m using simulate headphones and i’m afraid it is really bad.

I can comment on the AP.

Pre-update = spiral of death.

Post-update = smooth as silk.

Sounds very, very healthy. Gotta be the big 7HP Briggs… and two of them at that!

Update: nice beat frequency oscillation if you don’t get the powerplants in sync!

Yeah i had that before the update which was awesome, However now it’s morphed into just a drone that induces ear bleeding…! Are you using the headphone simulation in MSFS sound options with headphones. Surround sound is nil now.

I am using headphones. External taxi (throttles at idle) sounds pretty much like a Model A Lakes racer of old: a flathead four through straight pipes. It isn’t necessarily a bad sound, but it doesn’t sound correct for this (or any) aircraft, IMHO.

It seems that there’s a bit too much power in those engines, takeoff runs are stol-like (rotating at 75) and initial climb is about 1800fpm, it gets a bit better on climb with 25square but overall plane feels too fast now.

Before the update i had no striking sound issues. After the update there is a really annoying frequency oscillation. Even with just one engine on it does sound weird and annoying.

It seems that they fixed it until its broken now…in Germany we say “verschlimmbessern”…

as you mentioned it, is there a way to sync the powerplants?

Small lawn mower, indeed! At least it doesn’t take-off like a dragster anymore!

I had a big failure on DECOMPRESSING the latest PA44 update. It goes and goes, over a hour, should I just stop it and try again. Awful boring when updates don’t.

I got that too, I ended up deleting the files from the Official/OneStore folder and reinstalling, worked fine then. This happened to me with the Waco update some time back too.

This Official/OneStore folder…where is it located? Thank you!!! hnlute

In the same folder as your Community folder (I have the MS Store version of MSFS):
C:\Users\yourname\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_7gobeckyyoucandoit\LocalCache\Packages

And I deleted the folder: carenado-aircraft-pa44-seminole.

I had this too. Cancelled, rebooted and restarted. Content manager looks good, but not had time to fly and test yet. Looks like it is fixed.

Initially my content manager looked good but the A/C did not show as a choice to select and fly until I ended up deleting/reinstalling.

Cheers for that. Will have to check tomorrow…

Agreed. The aircraft accelerates to Vr and climbs like a banshee!

Still accelerates too much and, with the latest patch, it became way too twitchy on the elevator, same goes for trim.
I remember this was an issue in the first version which was fixed later.
Now I can barely look at the stick and the plane will move violently.

I think it is harder to slow it down on approach now. It also seems to float more before touchdown. I’m consistently landing at less than 15 fpm with the update. Anyone now if the current behaviour is realistic?

I downloaded the package but it’s sat on decompressing the file for over 20 minutes now and hasn’t completed. What’s the best thing to do, just click on Cancel and hope it’s OK?

Thus happened to me too. I had to cancel, delete the plane from content manager, then delete the actual subfolder under “official” as well as the zip file with the new version. Then I re-downloaded and it worked.
