Yup I’ve seen that. But a while later, it worked again. And I don’t know what I did, or if it ‘fixed itself’.
So now I’m not 100% if it was user error all along, or an actual glitch.

I’m trying to figure that out as well. Besides that i actually like it. Was looking forward to this one. I wanted a fast turboprop.

If I’m reading the documentation correctly, the modeled version of the PC-12 has a FADEC, where the single power lever controls both throttle and prop pitch together, so you shouldn’t have or need a separate prop lever.
The condition lever on a turboprop controls fuel flow: at the bottom position it’s in cut-off (no fuel) and is where you should be when starting up the engine starter – once it spins up, move to a roughly middle position (ground idle) and later when ready to fly push full forward (flight idle).
I already explained that bug. If you have other Carenado planes AND ground aircraft / AI aircraft are activated, Carenado planes can pick up the sound of the Carenado ground aircraft / AI aircraft instead of their own.
Thus, you can have other Carenado planes installed but need to deactivate ground / AI traffic.
I was about 30 knots below max speed and the plane got overstressed? Had the exact same problem with the Mooney until they fixed that…
Seems that this is a bit disappointing, judging by the early consensus. I watched AvAngel’s review of it on YouTube and she didn’t appear to overly like it;
I owned the previous versions in P3D and FSX and I am thoroughly enjoying this one.
It’s exactly what I expected, an uncomplicated extremely versatile and relatively fast GA aircraft.
After 7 hours of fIying I have had none of the performance issues that AvAngel noted.
It does have some bugs - negative fuel usage being a first for me.
I have no regrets on grabbing this the moment it was released.
Fair enough, to each their own. Glad you’re enjoying it. ![]()
question is: will Carenado fix them? or like the rest of what they did, dont touch them anymore?
Going on past history - Carenado will wait to see what people complain about most, and then release a single patch. Additional patches will only follow if an MSFS update completely borks the aircraft.
There are multiple developers who constantly deliver half finished products and often never touch them again. Carenado IMHO opinion is not one of them (any more)
Carenado may not be as good with updates as JustFlight or FlySimWare, but they have issued multiple fixes for their aircraft over the last two years. Even for their oldest ones like the Mooney and the Waco. So the old prejudice of them “not touching them anymore” is simple not applicable in MSFS anymore.
A few short flights later (approx. 10 flights since download ) I have to state that I would have been better off waiting for the SWS version. Don`t get me wrong, the plane is really very nicely modeled, cockpit looks very beautiful, but the flight dynamics are rather semi-professionally implemented and the sound is definitely ridiculous. Is this what a Turboprop sounds? lol
Update needed.
Perhaps it’s more accurate to say that Carenado does indeed update their planes, but at such a glacial pace that it looks like they don’t … I’m still convinced the Seneca behaves different than it used to on launch, and am still waiting/hoping they’ll address that. Same for the Mooney, seemingly (hearsay only, I don’t have that one myself)
As far as bugs/glitches go:
Will report more if I find any.
Overall, despite all of these, none of these are game breakers for me : I like it and am happy with my purchase. It’s typical Carenado : it’s not GOOD, but it’s not BAD either. It’s “pretty good”. You get what you pay for, I’m sure other PC12s in the pipeline will be more ‘full featured’ but they’ll also cost more.
Of course I hope they’re address some of these issues at some point …
EDIT: Also, if you’re following the POH and can’t seem to find the PASSENGER OXYGEN switch like me, it’s located in the left sidewall, behind the seat. It also does not work/inoperative.
EDIT2: Little sad the pilots ventilation windows does not open.
EDIT3: Contrary to AvAngel, I like the AviDyne. I’m also a fan of add-on makers adding custom instruments anyway, and there is a weather radar and some other useful bits 'n bobs on there.
I always wondered if she’s a he or a she ? It doesn’t matter at all but just curious ![]()
There’s something wrong with your audio settings if you think it’s a he.
Honestly, in 2022 , it may well be a guy with a feminine voice lol
Added another 500nm and i can say: i don’t really like this plane.
Negatives:
It steals 20 fps
It does not auto level at the set altitude
The Vertical Speed Selecter is not really intuitive
It has a transparent Headliner
Can’t freely move the Camera
Its too slow and feels way too heavy for a PC-12
I can’t get any of the approaches procedures to work. Even at Airports where i know i can do it because i did it multiple times in the Kodiak
Its extremely annyoing that i always need to choose the GTN750 again for every start
The Tablet is still on Xanax
The Sounds are horrible
Positives:
Looks good
Flies very stable
I can choose my own Pilots and don’t need to stare at Grandpa all the Time
Has no issues to start and land on dirt/grass runways.
Its able to fly very tight turns
Would i buy it again? Hell no. But MSFS doesn’t give you the possibility to rent a plane to test fly it before you buy it so it is what it is. I gonna send it to my Airplane Boneyard of a Hangar till SWS releases their PC-12 (which will mop the floor with this one.)
Why on earth is this engine ITT limited at seal level? It should be torque limited. As such, my takeoff distances are way too long.
And the prop lever functions. It should not. PC12 has FADEC prop control.
I hope they fix these fundamentals fast.
Yea, and I have seen youtube videos of it working, so it may be the TFDI GTNx interferring somehow. I thought I saw this on a default acft as well…
It’ll be the PC-12 NGX too, the up to date, bells-and-whistles version.
