PC12 was updated few days ago haven’t tried it yet
MSFS Addons is reporting some 2.0 updates inbound for
PC12
C337 Skymaster
C170B
PA34 Seneca V
PA28R Arrow III
Available via the Content Manager.
I like a lot of their aircraft but my recent switch to VR brings a new found appreciation for the cosmetics. Pretty aircraft are a big draw in VR. It’s also nice to have the option of simpler aircraft for shorter flights.
Anyway, hoping for their S340 or DO228 among others.
And the nice thing is, they know how to set up VR. A lot of developers stumble at this.
Personal Comments and Observations
The best part for me cosmetically was the change out of the avatars. Those two grumpy guys…![]()
im happy with the 182Rg coming!
Any word from Carenado lately? Their Facebook has been quiet since Nov 2023 and I’m not aware of any discord servers or forums for their company. Is there support system still active?
I hope they are not running out of Cessnas!
I think they might be working hard for some of the MSFS 2024 default planes.
I hope so!
Fingers crossed they’re just taking a bit of a break. There’s still so many of their P3D aircraft I’d love to have in MSFS.
(AC500, PA31 & Cessna 404 if anyone at Carenado is listening.
)
Wish they’d update the Bonanza V35B…or at least open up the files for modding.
Carenado, PMDG & Aerosoft have all gone very quiet over the past 6 months or longer.
Lots of conspiracy theories abound.
Pmdg hasn’t gone quiet at all. They continue rolling out news every week or two, just dropped the 777 preview trailer, and hosted a 45 min q&a stream with RSR
PMDG is about to release a 777 and has the 737 MAX in the pipeline. They are not quite at all, quite the contrary.
Carenado has never been very vocal, they release a Cessna disappear, then release another, repeat.
Aerosoft probably imploded ![]()
Aerosoft released info on the a330 a few days ago
This forum is not the only news source. It may be the least populated by developers.
MSFS 2024 is essentially around the corner (sometime this fall or winter),
- my bet goes with @LuisArgerich that they’re heads down on 2024 and have a lot of work to do there.
- I’ll bet marketing research shows that lots of people are slowing down their purchases in anticipation of 2024. Rather than “Free upgrade when 2024 comes out” and having to do more work to change the planes for 2024 and pay for the cost of releasing updates, it’s more cost effective to wait until the release and go straight to 2024 for new releases from this point on. They’ll have stock ready upon release, and can meter that out a little at a time to keep excitement up.
Do I believe 2020 planes will work in 2024? Kind of
Do I believe that 2020 planes in 2024 will be able to take advantage of all the new stuff in 2024? No, and I don’t think anyone has said they will either. I’m pretty sure the buying public is going to expect perfect planes with all the new features…although I don’t know where that belief has come from…
They can’t. It’s a MS plane.
I’m assuming you mean they can’t open it up for modding?
They certainly could update it if asked by Microsoft to do so.
Is there a list of documented reproducible bugs that need to be fixed?
Yea, we all know MS will never open up files. It could be updated, it will never be unlocked for modding. I find it pretty bug free myself, but I’m also not a picky flyer. It just works nicely. I know others have issues with it though but I haven’t kept track of what they are.
How is this different from the Denarq and Duckworks that are mods of MS planes?
