Just bought this thought I’d upgrade from the stock 172, very disappointing sounds are absolutely awful in the cabin. I have high end monitor headphones before anyone mentions that. Put it on headphone simulation but that was even worse going through the throttle on taxi I get that horrible phasing sound, the only other plane I’ve heard that on is another carrendo the Cessna sky master. I think they need to sort the sounds out. Will be sticking with the 172 now.
First time I’ve been on the sim and turned pc off through disappointment!
I think since SU9 this is what all Carenado planes and also others have problems with the sound. When the T182 came out the sound was perfect. For me it is always like this: when starting at the stand, there are all kinds of sounds that do not belong to the T182. After about 5nm the sound suddenly switches and the aircraft sounds as it should. I’ve been hoping for a long time that this would finally be fixed! Basically, however, the T182 is a successful implementation and is a lot of fun for me personally. Whether Carenado or Asobo screwed something up, we will probably never know exactly
For me, in VR the view starts at the floor, & have to readjust every time coming back to the cockpit. Plus the AP buttons are washed out, not readable.
Nothing is normal at the moment, but those who have owned the CT182T for a while know that the aircraft sounded exactly like a video of a pilot flying from airfield to airfield in Scotland in not too good weather. (I’m not looking for the link now). As far as the depth of the system is concerned, I cannot and will not judge - I am only a PC pilot who uses a good 35’’ monitor with TrackIR where everything is clearly legible.
There’s also a video on YouTube where a learning pilot is testing the C182 engine performance and it’s practically on the numbers (weather was different).
My speech Let’s wait and see what comes with the PC12 from Carenado
About the CT182T: I flew it 2 times just now! Was it a coincidence or was the update yesterday (Steam - approx. 150mb) perhaps already corrected something, because the sound bug was gone! And that was the first time in weeks if not months.
Yes, unfortunately also in my case - take-off in LOAV, after approx. 5 minutes during the frequency transfer the correct sound and shortly before landing in LOAN again horrible sounds.
Before that I flew from VTPH to VTPR and then from VTPR to ???. (oops I forgot) and on both flights the sound was correct from the beginning to the end.
There are multiple sound bugs with Carenado aircraft. Although they mention the GeeBer and Staggerwing, my understanding is that it happens across all Carenado aircraft. I don’t know if this is what you are experiencing.
It didn’t sound great yesterday at all just sounded very poor quality in the cabin compared to window open, but had it re installed today and the sound was consistent right through the flight all though I had the phasing sound early on during run up though which is awful.
After a bit of time I’ve sort of gotten used to how it sounds. Hopefully this will improve in future updates. I can understand the phasing sound on their twin engine Cessna but not on a single engine.
