ISSUE DESCRIPTION
Description of the issue:
When you click on the “Skip to Descent” option using Alt-N during the cruise, it places your plane randomly between the current cruising altitude and somewhere as low as 2000 (it could be lower but the lowest I’ve seen was 2000 feet.) It also reduces your airspeed to way lower than stalling speed. For 737 Max 8, I’ve witnessed airspeed as low as 30 knots, which guarantees a steep drop of many thousands of feet before I could stabilize it and come out of the stall. It also automatically puts your plane in flaps 2 configuration which if you don’t raise them quickly will generate an overspeed with flaps up warning. The distance it places your plane when you come out of skip to descent also seems random. It can be as far away as 500NM (in which case you will still need to cruise quite a bit before ToD) or as close as 30 NM (in which case you do not have enough time to descent safely to approach and landing.)

- Launch an Airliner Passenger Transport mission with B737 Max 8
- Takeoff, reach cruise altitude
- Hit Skip to Descent via Alt-N
- Observe the stalling airspeed, and all the things I described above.
