anybody any clue what the problem can be?

thanks for your help

Possibility that you need to set a dead zone for your input device.

From what I understand, moving a control surface with a joystick or yoke will disengage the auto pilot by design.

I’m just not sure how sensitive the 172 is to this. With some other aircraft, this is definitely needed. Even if the joystick isn’t moved on purpose, sometimes there is jitter that can be recognized as an input and that can disengage the auto pilot.

thank you but i think thats not the problem

never had a problem before with the AP. the problem is not only with the Cessna. AP dont work anymore on every plane

have a nice sunday

Gotcha. Hope you get it sorted out.

Have you added any new controllers or controller mappings lately. I was having a problem with throttles and mixtures because my hotas throttle was conflicting with my bravo throttle. It took me a little while to figure out what was causing the problem but if I had my hotas throttle at anything other than full throttle, then if I pushed my bravo throttle forward it would come right back after 2 seconds.

no i still use the same controllers

i’ll suggest the same as pop , add a little more deadzone. if it doesnt fix it then you can always set it back.

Yes, I was thinking that since he’s seeing the problem across all aircraft, that the “dead zone” theory would apply.

I’ve had to set mine to 15% due to spurious signals interfering with the autopilot. It was on another aircraft though, not the 172.

it prolly worked  , no more replies …

hi

sorry, still not rescued

have a nice a day

uhm i know you didnt change a thing but is your flightmodel set to modern ?

we’re here trying to help you out

yes model is on modern

ok lets try another approach by eliminating possible causes.
can you get a plane into the air using only keyboard ?
Like take off without joysticks in PC then turn on AP and see if it stay’s on or not.

got a new external SSD. then moved the FS to it for testing. Deleted it, and then a new install on C because it now more than half of size. thats the only thing i did

ok this sounds silly , have you had the power off since adding new usb device ?

if not , turn off pc and even pull to power plug and let pc sit for a minute then power plug back and restart.

with keyboard i can activate the AP

ok so it is the stick causing the ap to disconnect.

probable cause : having 2 buttons or button + axis assigned to same action , this will cause weird input values = AP will disconnect.
if you have stick and throttle then cross check for 2 buttons doing the same.
one of the common mistakes is having the rudder axis programmed but also the rudder pedal’s , its 2 actions but doing the same thing in the simulator.

AP i have on button 1 on Thrustmaster Throttle. On Joystick is nothing
