Cessna 172 Skyhawk (G1000): strange geometry in cockpit - could be related to icing?

:white_check_mark: ISSUE DESCRIPTION

  1. Description of the issue:
    When flying in icing conditions in the aircraft, a strange object appears in the cockpit. The object appears to be transparent, but with an icing texture on it (my interpretation) See reference screenshots.
    EDIT: Can confirm that the icing texture applied to the object becomes more dense/visible when icing worsens.

  2. If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue:
    Cessna 172 Skyhawk (G1000), cargo variant.

  3. Did you remove all your community mods/add-ons? If yes, are you still experiencing the issue?
    Yes, community folder is empty.

How often does this occur for you? (Example: Just once, every time on sim load, intermittently)
Only experienced this issue once. First time flying in icing conditions (assuming issue is related to icing.)

  1. Start career mode and enter a cargo mission with the aircraft.
  2. Fly into icing conditions.
  3. Look for the issue in the cockpit.

Alternatively, perform a flight in icing conditions in Free Flight.

Can confirm, this same issue happens to me when flying the 172 in icing conditions. Has happened consistently every time there is icing.

It’s happening to me too, right now. Definitely related to icing conditions.
I don’t know if all aircraft are affected but the C172 is.

  1. set temp between -0 and -15, and fly through high humidity
  2. look down and right, you should see a transparent window frame coming in to view depending on the icing level.

I am a developer, but the developer mode is off.

Happened to me yesterday in my first icing condition.

Can confirm this. One of many model glitches with the MSFS2024 default aircraft.
I wish release dates were set based on product quality instead of the other way around.
But this is the darkest timeline.

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue: When the C172 ices up, one of the ice textures is positioned in the cockpit, right next to the pilot’s seat.

If applicable, which aircraft is experiencing this issue: Cessna 172 G1000 (Cargo, possibly all variants)

Do you have the same issue if you follow the OP’s steps to reproduce it?
• Fly into icing conditions, the window icing effect for the side window is in the middle of the plane, like OP’s picture. As it warms up the effect slowly goes away.

• Saw it on Xbox on version 1.1.10.0, haven’t flown in icing conditions since the patch to 1.2.7.0

Fixed in 1.2.7.0.
