This aircraft is so sensitive (rate of climb, rate of descent, speed) in Bush trips that often makes my MSFS to crash and takes me to the previous way point (by choice). Is there a way to adjust the config file for this aircraft as not to be so sensive?
C208B improvement mods at flightsim.to or
Black Square Analog Caravan
what controller are you using @TemperedPaper48 ??
It will have an effect though, just that aircraft amplifies it perhaps.
Some aircraft have been designed to work with yokes with long throws on pitch, which that joystick can’t hope to match. For my yoke, I might be able to pull that back an inch, but on that stick that same movement may be only a few millimetres.
I wrote something about these things elsewhere. And this was comparing two yokes. Joysticks have even less movement from centre to their extremities than yokes. They may have high resolution hall sensors, but without the physical travel on the stick, that’s only half the battle.
You mean it makes the sim crash? What crashes exactly?
Assuming you’re talking about control sensitivity, before editing any config files, you could adjust sensitivity curves for your controller in the MSFS settings. You could create a profile with specific sensitivity curves for the C208B. Use that profile when you use the C208B.
The problem with editing config files is that if a sim update includes an update to the C208B, the files will get replaced and you’ll have to edit every time, unless you make a mod and put it in the community folder.
In the flight_model.cfg, I would start with:
elevator_scaling_table = 0:1
aileron_scaling_table = 0:1
rudder_scaling_table = 0:1
Change them to something like:
elevator_scaling_table = -0.1:1.0, 0:0.2, 0.1:1.0
aileron_scaling_table = -0.1:1.0, 0:0.2, 0.1:1.0
rudder_scaling_table = -0.1:1.0, 0:0.2, 0.1:1.0
If you’re still not happy, you could try changing some of the stability parameters under flight tuning, but keep in mind they will affect how the airplane flies vs. just the controls.
Keep doubts about your controller on the back burner. There’s no reason you cannot fly the C208B comfortably with a joystick.
No the sim does not crash (and without me even touching the HOTAS control) it just stops and gives the options to start from the last way point ,last leg or to go to the main screen. Just note that this happens ONLY in Bush Trips.
That’s really odd. If it doesn’t happen outside of bush trips with the same aircraft, I would assume it is an error. It is control input that is causing the crash and the message?
