Since about two weeks I 've been flying around America with the C 700 and WT CJ4. So far so good when you use the latest WT mods.
My question is: The CJ3+ uses the Garmin® GFC™ 700 (similiar to G3000 avionics) and on the factory webpage you can only see CJ4 equipped with COLLINS AEROSPACE PRO LINE 21 avionics. Why that?
I thought the GFC™ 700/ G3000 are much more modern than the Collins PL21 and have got touch screens.
I’d love to have both on the CJ4 and the C7000.
CJ3+ uses a Garmin, that’s what’s featured on the YouTube videos made by CitationMax.
CJ4 is strictly ProLine21. To be fair, the PL21 is a world-class FMS, and eschews a lot of the Graphical UI that Garmin does for very efficient LSK interface. It’s also a great transition tool for any pilots who move on from Bizjets to Commercial liners as the interface is very similar. It takes an average of two steps to do something in PL21 that takes five or six and several screens in a Garmin.
As it stands now, you can’t do things like define Performance management in G3000 which enhances the flying and planning experience. That will change when it enters Early Access.
You are right. Getting from CJ4 with Collins to an commercial airliner is easier and the FMS is really good. CitationMax is great and he always flies the CJ3+. That’s why I was asking. By the way: The guys from WT do a really outstanding job and I love to fly the CJ4 as well.
