Cessna Skyhawk - G1000 auto Trim go wild after 70fl

ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Description of the issue:

After take off and using VS +500 to any heading. The Skyhawk auto trim will go crazy after 70fl and will trim to much and no way to get to 10000k with autopilot. The Skyhawk has a maxium altitude of 12,999 ft but can’t get past 7,500 feet before auto trim go wild and stalls the plane out.

In Career Mode:

  1. set VS to +500
  2. Set altitude selection to 90fl
  3. set nav on location
  4. Watch the plane get above 70fl and start calling out stall warnings and trim is set 30% or 40%

Are you leaning out the mixture as you climb? If you don’t, you will lose power the higher you go.

This was exactly my first thought.
No leaning, no height.
Think I will give it a try after some sleep, 5h should be enough,

Keeping VS at +500 is asking too much of a 172 above 6000ft, the described behaviour is accurate for what you’re asking the AP to do. Instead of staying in VS mode, use FLC mode to maintain optimum climb speed above 6000 ft.

No I have it at 100% power and 100% mixture. Nothing has changed. It also does this also when going over mountains. I think it is excessive wind shear but I also think some of this is not even realistic. I think AP is messed up after the latest updates.

That’s the problem. You need to pull the mixture as you climb. If you leave it at full mixture while climbing, your power will decrease because you are too rich.
