My CH Yoke is at least 15 years old and was suffering from jitters and unresponsiveness on the roll/pitch axes due to worn out pots. As I was searching the web for replacement parts I happened upon a 2019 post on “another forum” that mentioned a man who 3-D printed hall effect sensors specifically for the CH yoke. Long story short, he still makes them! Contact Norman Yeung (ntydkhe@yahoo.com)
if you’re interested. The sensors are very reasonably priced and take about 20 minutes to install. I put them in yesterday and they are very smooth and very responsive!
ok but where find the effect hall and all the part needed?
I need to nuy one yoke but only if i can mod it
He posted the email address to contact the guy in his post above.
Does he include installation instructions? Where is he located? How much do they cost? How many are needed for each yoke? Is this an easy install for one who is only somewhat familiar with electronics? Thank you for posting.
It’s been 3 years since I bought them (my post is dated Dec of 2020), but they did come with instructions and were very easy to install. At the time I think they were a few dollars each with one required for the pitch axis and one for the roll axis. I don’t know if Norman still makes them but if he does, he’ll help you out!
OK thanks i’ll try to contact becaus i really need to buy the yoke but with this or no buying lol.
3 years it seem to be 100 years here lol
When i thinks that in real life i take 10 years to become “friend” with someone lol THANKKS AGAIN
No worries! I hope he’s still around
i had send a mail and hooping
Let us know if he gets back to you!
yep he does, and tell me to wait untill 15 march to contact him again, he’ll update some stuff befor making the stuff again
That is awesome! You won’t be disappointed.
I also have a CH yoke (& pedals!) …no issues with my pots …yet!!
Would the mod be worth doing anyway? …does it make a great improvement to the overall performance?
If so I may contact him myself and request similar!
In my experience, the hall effect sensors removed the all the jitters that the ailing mechanical pots were causing. Additionally, they can’t wear out so they should last the lifetime of the yoke.
