well stylistic tastes differ. for sure. but objectively the FSX soundtrack sounds cheap.
you don´t have to love MSFS 2024 soundtrack but it sounds valuable and crafted well.

You should know then they could uplift the FSX theme with today’s technology to make it less cheap for you but then it loses that nostalgic value.
Kinda like remixing an Elvis song on today’s decks
At the end of the day if they give us options we can find our preference

I don’t want to get too deep into the details of music production, but it’s not really about mixing, mastering, or refurbishing something old.
The FSX soundtrack, from what I’ve gathered, is full of those corny 2000s brass libraries and the like. Orchestral instruments still can’t be recreated all that faithfully even today, but back then they often sounded downright trashy. Nowadays, plenty of film composers working on lower-budget productions can get away with it.
So, in this case, Microsoft actually made a pretty good call by focusing on instruments that were much cheaper to recreate convincingly and beautifully. An electric guitar with lots of delay FX (if you appreciate the aviation pun, fair enough), with some synths sitting behind it. That’s probably why it sounds at least reasonably professional.
Of course, nobody has to like it, but it doesn’t sound blatantly cheap either — like a metaphorical Casio keyboard.

Or to celebrate being roughly 100 years after the dawn of the Golden Era of aviation, how about a few of these classic and rousing soundtracks!

OMG, Crimson Skies! My childhoooood.
My mother and I went to the bookstore clerk — back when you could buy games there as well. We were looking for a game and asked him, “Hey, do you have something like Crimson Skies?”
He typed into the search machine: “Grimsen Skies.” 
10/10. Those were the days.
Starlancer was similarly cool. I loved the story and the lore of that game so much as well.
But hey, let’s see how Rogue 42 will turn out!

Why not have the option to pick one of the Themes from Themes Reimagined that
was release a couple of weeks ago. There are 21 Themes to pick from. Make it a start
up option.

Unless there are copywrite or trademark issues this would be a day job I would have thought
