So let me understand this - I changed my email address and now MSFS is BROKEN
I opened a chat with MS and was told to log off the Store - then uninstall MSFS and reinstall - then log into the Store verifying the log in under the new email acct association - then open and run MSFS.
but no - MSFS starts -then the xbox live popup askes me which account to use? I only have the one. So I select it but am told it wont sync with the cloud just now. Fine - load it offline. But then It breaks again and says I am not logged into xbox live. And I’m in the ‘Press any Key’ circle of hell
Something about ‘Teredo’ in the xbox settings too for good measure. Meanwhile I have wasted hundreds of dollars on a program and addons I cannot use anymore - because I changed my email address…
@FusionHorse151 If you haven’t already got it, some users report getting the xbox app helps with account sync issues.
If you have xbox app: close MSFS, sign out of xbox app & MS Store, reboot your PC, sign back into MS Store, sign back into xbox app and launch MSFS from there.
If you don’t have the xbox app: install the xbox app, sign in and launch MSFS from there
The Xbox account is the key to validation of game. I suspect you need to change the email address for that also and associate it with the Microsoft account that you changed the email address for?
Xbox accounts have their own separate support channel if you need to contact those folks
I had to change my ms login - deactivate the existing and create a ms login with the new email. Then logout and re- login to ms store, Xbox live, and then reinstall flightsim all under the new email association.
It has been a fustercluck from MSFS support to the zendesk. MS had me uninstall the sim with no plan beyond that. Zendesk told me to use the old deleted email account to log in. Then told me to contact MS as the only solution.
Fortunately my son is a card carrying Genius.

Could you send your son over to fix my issue. Two issues: 1) I need to delete (NOT ALIAS) my current email address that was used to setup all my MS stuff for the last 10 years. We have moved and no longer have access to this email address ISP. I want to (COMPLETELY CHANGE THE MASTER EMAIL address MS!) . Unlike you, we some people actually move around. Any way, I create a new account while inside my master MS account. It says all programs apps, Xbox etc will all be accessible but when I went to the game store and logged in with the new account I don’t see MSFS2020. Gezz MS Can you geeks not make this a little more straight forward and EASY for the non-tech savvy user to understand.
I’m having the same issue, deleted my old Hotmail account associated with ms store and Xbox. Login to that account now with different email
Also created new outlook account for ms store and Xbox. So have two gamer tags one old with msfs the other new with nothing. But I can’t transfer game to new account or change old gamer tag to new email as it’s already being used. Essentially I want to delete my old account and all it’s associations and transfer msfs to new account. Does anyone have any idea how to do this?
I have changed my email and need to change my master account login. Any chance you or your son can explain the process that worked in the end please?
