ChasePlane for MSFS... It's happening! [by Parallel 42]

From what I understand from reading the changelog, this version is an update to the previous version, and one of its features is compatibility with the MSFS 2024 SU5 betas.
In other words, it works perfectly with SU4 and now also with the SU5 beta versions.

I haven’t tested this version yet, so I can’t be certain, but based on @runshotgun comment, I gather that the issue with the camera under the ground, as well as displaying the pilot from outside the aircraft, hasn’t been fixed in this version and they’re waiting for Asobo to finish completing the camera API, which they expect will be with the release of SU5 or SU6.

Releasing an update that breaks SU4 compatibility wouldn’t be logical. This version works on both SU4 and SU5 Beta.

I would think the same but it wasn’t made clear. Thanks for the clarification!

I totally agree—it’s either yes or no. It’s not a problem, and it’s completely understandable. You just have to say it’s something we’ll have to wait a little longer for, but sadly, we have to adapt to the needs of extremely premature babies (msfs 2024) ; we have no choice.

Appreciate the response. Big fan of the addon and really appreciate you all getting this ready for SU5. Also, happy to hear your enthusiam for the new API.

Do the fixed camera issues also include the invisible pilot for native 2024 planes? Pretty much the only reason I have it uninstalled after being really happy with all of the rest.

I have tested Chase Plane now with SU5 in both 2D and VR is both the Cessna 172 and the Fenix A320 and it is amazing. What an improvement to the flying experience. Thank you for fixing this during the beta.

Yes.

Thanks! That’s great news. As I understand it requires SU5 and will not just give me this in SU4 with the newest patch?

Correct, the new Camera API in SU5 Beta enables this fix.

Is it now working in VR?

I quickly tested the latest version for SU5 Beta and at least it does not CTD when switching from 2D to VR. I’ve not tested it long enough to confirm that everything works as expected without glitches.

It worked great for me in VR.

Not a huge fan of this update. I used to be able to use RMB as both hold-to-pan and as a modifier to enable mousewheel scrolling. Now CP sees it as a conflict and I have to choose. Bummer.

Is there any community forum or discord to get in touch with other users?
Would be great as they refuse to help on discord (why they still run a discord if its useless now remains a myth)
