ChasePlane for MSFS... It's happening! [by Parallel 42]

Just loaded MSFS and noticed there is a very nice update. The spotting feature is amazing! Absolutely loving it, many thanks :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

I’m finding an issue at the moment where when I load into the sim the camera has moved upwards (custom cockpit camera). This happens pretty much everytime in every aircraft where I have a custom pilot view.
If I restart the flight the camera goes back to where it should be. It’s very annoying.

Re-Binding Views - Since the latest update it appears I will need to re-bind all of the many aircraft views I have set for ChasePlane. Extremely annoying!! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

I did not have that happen with the update BUT have had it happen several times before. Too often actually. Usually, the cause is some driver or firmware on my controllers have updated and the same of the device has changed slightly. Blows up the mapping. Now, I use the named views so you only need to update the bindings once if the name of the device changes.

Feel your pain. You load up looking forward to a flight and have to spend the first 20 minutes fixing things.

I’ve had that happen with an update before, too, but everything was still there after I reloaded MSFS 2024. I’d try restarting before reassigning the controls.

One thing I noticed is don’t have the Windows Joy.cpl open in the background when mapping controls. If it is open CP will take the default name of the control as per Joy.cpl, which can possibly be different than the name used from within MSFS. I was using Joy to verify button names and didn’t close it when I started working on CP mapping. That does not negate the original issue of having to re-assign view controls after a CP update. But it is Experimental…

I am having issues with my mouse movements in VR while flying the Fenix A3XX aircraft and curious if the mouse jerkiness and freezes might be related to ChasePlane. This began during the SU6 beta so not sure what’s at fault. I’m going to try a flight without ChasePlane but of course the setup for a Fenix flight is lengthy time wise and I’m not looking forward to relearning all my instrument views again for the test. My hunch is that since it’s been forever since any Fenix update, they might be the cause. They have been in that mode where they have refused to do any updates because we were always in a beta. Well, we are not at the moment so about time for them to step up as Parallel 42 has done.

I have the same issues since su6 and I am without chaseplane…

Adjusting View - OK now another gripe since the latest update. I am now seeing that when I am trying to adjust the specific view, when I click Adjust - the view moves slightly to the right. Make your view adjustment. When you save and close the adjustment window, the view moves back to where it was prior to the changes made. So I have to go back and forth to try and get the view just as I want it. Did not do that last week. Grrrrrrr !!..

One thing I would like from this almost perfect add-on, is the ability to keep the zoom working with my mouse scroll wheel for outside views and be disabled in the cockpit.

Can someone please tell me what this maroon icon does?

I think it means headtracking is off

Thank you!!

Starting to use Nasuntara Cinema here which is free and quality.

Not really comparable features wise though.

Hi, since last chaseplane update I can’t use tobii in cockpit view but it’s working in avatar mode !!!

An idea ?

Does anybody know how to change the default zoom of Chaseplans Drone Camera (I think its called “Explore” in the world camera group)?

So I finally decided to jump into ChasePlane (i.e. to buy the product). I bought all three of them: Flow Pro, CP, and Skytrails.

I haven’t tested FP yet, and I’m disappointed with Skytrails, but that’s not the topic of this thread.

But CP in VR… WOW! It works very well for me on a Dream Air, and it’s a game changer compared to the default camera view. There’s so much more control, and I’m starting to appreciate the other camera options as well.

I am literally rediscovering MSFS 2024, and with the Dream Air, this is beautiful!

Really, really positive first impression of CP. I’ll spend some time over the weekend tuning the views, but I can definitely recommend it to people who are reluctant to try it because of the VR disclaimer.

CP and FP (along with BATC and GSX) are my favorite add-ons at this point. The more I use / customize CP, the more I depend on it. It rocks!

The only downside is that CP/FP breaks with just about EVERY Sim Update BETA which makes it tough if you enjoy participating in the BETA programs. Something about what/how they do what they do is very fragile and easily broken. P42 is good about getting them working in time for final SimUpdate release but BETA support has been an issue for me.

thanks for using our airport as an example
