Checking for updates

I have not been on MSFS for about 3 months. Once I set up my PC I updated everything to SU12 and MSFS only worked when it wanted to. Got some serious total Win 11 crashes(black screen and reboot), am on win 11 insider program and looks like some issue with some of the yet to be released updates for win 11. Now MSFS is on a constant “Checking for updates”
Things at Microsoft and Asobo don’t seem to have gotten any better in the 3 months then by the looks of things. :rage:

Hi there,
Welcome back to the forums. I’m sorry that you are having issues. We ask that you post support/troubleshooting questions in one of the green Community Support subcategories instead of General Discussion. I have moved your post to Tech Support, where hopefully somebody might be able to help.

If you’re running insider builds of the Windows 11 OS, theres no guarantee any software will work as intended.

Agreed - looks like the Win 11 updates from the insider program needs to be backed out 1st.

I was in the Windows Insider program early last year, I had several problems with the OS, specially driver problems with sound, and with MSFS as well, I switched back to the standard release, there is very little to gain but much to loose when subscribed to it. It is very common that when they add new features, they screw up something else and the support is rather poor. My advice is stay away from it, if you want your sim to work. By the way, switching back , means reinstalling Windows from scratch, so you have to reinstall MSFS, that was fun…

It was a while since I fresh installed MSFS so decided to reinstall, as I had also noticed that my Content.xml was not updating if I added sceneries. Now after a fresh install MSFS working very well, but there is no content.xml. It’s wierd but all addon sceneries are showing and 100% usable. Cor blimey moses what next !!
