Hi Guys
First time flying the Longitude, found extreme porpoising under Autopilot with Autothrottle (which has been reported before I think), particularly with high sim rate.
Lots of aircraft do this with the simrate high, but this was extreme - so much so that it sent ATC nuts about being over or under assigned altitude (+/- 1000feet, it was pretty wild). Looked away, heard a ratcheting noise and the trim had wound up to 100%, literally fell out of the sky -10,000fpm.
I’ll do some experimenting this evening (it was like an extreme version of the AT behaviour of the PC24) under manual throttle etc but am asking the question in case anyone else has had success with this aircraft.
Thanks!
Rob S
I haven’t had any issues when flying the Longitude. It will bounce around if you increase the sim rate too much so, as a general rule I keep to three. That way it keeps the jet stable and you are also able to react to atc before you get a penalty for missing their transmission.

Thanks!
I managed to get the sim rate up all the way by manually setting the throttle and slowing the sim rate for any tight turns in cruise, it took out the additional issue of the throttle cycling up and down in response which was exacerbating things.

The throttle on the pc-24 is very unpredictable, accelerating and decelerating seemingly at random. Its a solid aircraft otherwise, though. once they correct the throttle issue, it should easily be on par with the longitude. for now, i usually stick to using the manual throttle, just like you.
I reckon in that porpoise pattern of ‘nose down, speed up, throttle down, nose up, speed down…’ so on so on it was hitting 35% to 100% throttle range with autothrottle at high sim rate!
I’ve had some quite good flights in it on manual, it’s a really nice little plane otherwise and lots of creature comforts like passenger cabin lighting (obviously I realise it’s a sim, but I do still feel a really silly sense of guilt that my virtual passengers are sitting in the dark in the CJ4 cause the passenger cabin lights aren’t modelled…)

It truly is a great plane, especially for Career Mode. The buying price is reasonable, maintenance is fair, and it provides strong returns—earning a good wage when flown and even a respectable passive income when idle. The only major issues are the fact that its auto-throttle is currently bugged and it’s a huge gas guzzler. Despite these flaws, its overall value made it a key deciding factor in my pre-order of the Premium Deluxe Edition for PlayStation.
