ISSUE DESCRIPTION

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Load Citation X at a parking gate in Cold & Dark.
  2. Turn on Batteries.
  3. Start APU and set APU GEN ON.
  4. Start both engines and turn on generators.
Result: All cockpit displays and EFB remain OFF. The aircraft is flyable (engines/lights work) but cockpit is fully dark.

Notes:

  • Works fine in MSFS 2020, bug only happens in MSFS 2024.
  • Community folder empty, no mods installed.
  • Citation X appears as “streamed/encrypted” in Content Manager, cannot be reinstalled manually.

Please investigate, as this makes the aircraft unflyable in 2024 without instruments.

Hi @NDR177 and welcome to the forum !,

Thank you for this report. We’ve moved your topic into the User Support Hub.

The Bug Reporting Hub is for posting suspected or confirmed bugs that other users are able to reproduce without duplicating an existing bug report. Using the template or providing all the relevant information about your bug and sim setup is required in order to provide valuable information, feedback, and replication steps to our test team.

If you are not sure if your issue is a bug or need further input from the community, please use the User Support Hub category. If the community can replicate your issue, first search the Bug category to see if there’s an existing topic. If it already exists, contribute to that report. Duplicate bug reports will be closed.

If you believe it is a new report and no duplicate exists, then create a new bug topic using the provided topic template.

All issues caused by or involving third-party addons/mods should be reported to the third-party developer. Assure that no addons/mods are used when reporting issues in Bug Reports.

Your steps don’t indicate when you turn on EFIS and Avionics. Those are distinct Toggle Switches after electrical power is up and stable to the jet.

You also don’t need to start the APU at that point. Just enable the GPU cart in the VAMS tablet and you can start APU discretely later before engine start.

He did say the EFB is black too. I have a feeing he’s in SU4 as I flew the X last night in SU3 and it worked great

If he’s in SU4, this thread should probably go back into the Flighting section.

You are wright. I uninstalled SU4 and

it’s OK now.

Moved to Sim Update 4 Beta | MSFS 2024 > External 3rd Party Products since OP confirmed issue was under Beta SU4.

For me it is working fine. Just the displays are a bit dimm.

After updating to the most recent SU4 beta, the simulator is running very well overall. Third-party aircraft and jetways are working again, and performance has improved noticeably compared to the last builds, similar to the first SU4 beta release. No major stability issues have been observed so far.

Issue Observed:
The FlightFX Citation X is showing severe display problems in this beta (has been happening since the first SU4 beta release). The cockpit avionics screens appear very dark, almost unreadable in most conditions. In daylight the issue is even worse, with the screens becoming completely black, which makes the aircraft essentially unusable.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Launch the simulator in SU4 beta (latest build).

  2. Select the FlightFX Citation X.

  3. Load into any airport during daytime.

  4. Observe the avionics displays inside the cockpit.

Expected Behavior:
Avionics screens should render normally with proper brightness and remain visible under all lighting conditions.

Actual Behavior:

  • Screens are overly dim and hard to read.

  • During daylight the screens turn fully black.

  • Adjusting brightness or interacting with displays does not resolve the issue.

Impact:
The Citation X cannot currently be used in the SU4 beta because of the black screen problem. Other third-party aircraft tested so far do not show this issue.

Additional Notes:
Performance improvements in this build are excellent, and compatibility with third-party content seems restored. The only significant problem encountered so far is with the Citation X avionics.
