I haven’t downloaded any of the Cities from Flightsim.to website yet. Is there anybody out there who has that can tell me if they are well optimized and how they effect fps? Or, is there a specific author of any of the addons that does a particularly good job of optimization.
Also, are these all ‘drop ins’ to your community folder?
Yes all are drop ins, at least I’ve never come across any that aren’t. Most are fine as far as optimization but there are definitely some that are not, and some yet that are worse than others and maybe almost not worth downloading due to the FPS hit. Any of the ones that have issues will have them discussed down in the comment section of the mod’s download page.
These aren’t really my bag, but I’ve tried a few things by Thalixte - Flightsim.to » Profile of Thalixte and they all worked and looked really good. He might have had something to do with creating the tools to import google stuff. I’m not sure.
Some work by others has been acceptable, some absolutely horrible. When it’s bad load times take forever, and sometimes they don’t load at all.
He only has a few uploads but are very good photogrammetry of Chicago suburbs if that is something you are interested in.
